Happy Birthday!

Dear hubby,

I might not be able to give you the best gift on you birthday, I can't give much anyway. But that doesnt mean that I love you less. All the sacrifices that I've made throughout our marriage is a proof of how much I love you.

The stray cat that became a house cat

Iman loves cats or any animals. According to hubby, dia ikut his ku (grandfather) belah hubby yg sangat suka binatang. As for aku? Aku cuma suka dan sayang Simba je, kucing aku yang dah few years mati. Aku ni amatla penggelinya. Kalau tengok stray cats, takut nak pegang, unlike Iman and hubby.

Chuppy was picked up after 1 year plus the original Chuppy kena kidnap. Iman was so smitten with this new Chuppy. But since she's asthmatic, aku limit her time with Chuppy. Chuppy is also not allowed to come inside the house. Yea... I know.. Aku kejam! But better safe than sorry kan? Lagi pun aku dah letih berkhemah kat hospital since the girls baby. Not that I'm complaining :)

This is Chuppy after almost 2 years with us.

Red Day at Kenny Roger's

My sister, ayu, tagged me on the Red Day poster. Makcik ni pun apa lagi, excited yg terover2 la nak pegi. The truth is, I'm not that fond of Kenny Roger's food. I think it's a bit pricey. Furthermore boleh masak sendiri kat rumah kan, takyah la buang duit makan kat kedai.

We went there at about 2pm. The girls had to ponteng KAFA coz memang tak sempat nak antar dia org. Shariff and ibu dia joined us. Aduhai shariff! Memang stress aku. Time nak balik, dia takmau ikut his ibu, nak ikut mama. Aku pulak memang letih sgt coz the nite before I slept at 4am! Memang tak larat nak melayan shariff.

Stir Fry Soba

On Friday last week, Lily came over during lunch coz her lunch break on Fridays is 2 hours. Since kete aku buat hal Friday tu, instead of going to KLCC to where she works, she had to come over to Melawati. Thank you Lily!! Friday hari tu kan panas, so we had to go somewhere cool. The choices are, KFC, Dominos and Secret Recipe. We chose Secret Recipe Melawati.

The truth was, I wasnt that hungry masa tu. Lily ordered Stir Fry Soba, and we shared the soba. It was delicious!! Tak sangka soba kat situ sedap. The funny thing about having a coffee with a girlfriend, you didnt realise how time flies! Rasa kejap je 2 jam tu. We had a heart to heart talk. One of the core thing that we discuss was, being judgmental and belittling people. Sometimes you dont have to say it out loud, just voicing it out dalam hati pun dah salah. It shows how egoistic we are. And orang yang ada sekumit ego dalam hati masa dia mati, memang takan bau syurga. Nauzubillah..Marilah kita sama2, sempena tahun 2012 ni, cuba untuk membuang ego.

Stir Fry Soba

This is the basic recipe yang aku post on my facebook.

Aku rebus soba, siram air sejuk, toskan. Pastu panas kan minyak, tumis crushed garlic, then add sayur. Sayur boleh letak apa2 sayur. Aku letak kobis, carrot and mushroom. Then add light soya sauce, salt and soba. Boleh add fish cake. I used chicken salami. Goreng for few minutes then boleh la dihidangkan dgn lettuce.

Projek Meroti 2012

Setelah berbulan tak buat roti, finally yesterday, aku berjaya mengatasi kemalasan melampau dan berjaya menguli roti menggunakan mixer! hehe... Tak kuasa ler nak uli guna tangan. Since I was gone for more than 1 month, barang2 kat pantry tu sgt2 limited. I had to make do with whatever that I have. Mula2 plan nak buat floss buns, tapi tengok chicken floss dah habis. Bukak freezer, ada 7 pieces of hotdog tinggal. So I ended up with pizza buns and serunding buns. Serunding daging tu neighbour sebelah yang bagi. Sedap! :D

I'm still using the sweet bun recipe shared by Happy Flour. I love her recipe sebab aku tak payah guna any additive, and roti still lembut dan gebu. Lagipun I'm the kind yang, kalau dah sesuai dengan satu recipe, aku akan guna that recipe je unless buat kek. With roti, malas nak trial and error sebab it's time consuming bila buat roti ni. So, kalau aku end up dengan recipe yang tak menjadi, I'd be wasting my time.

Aku dah penah kena sekali, masa buat roti naik. Someone gave me a recipe, which she herself hasnt tried. Maybe because it was from a recipe book, she thought it's foolproof. Ended up, aku wasted more than 10 hours menunggu roti yang tak naik2. Memang frust! To me, if u wanna share a recipe, share a foolproof recipe which has been tried. Tak boleh expect orang mencuba untuk kita. Err.. that's my 2 cents. Sorry sangat kalau aku ada mengguris hati sesapa. It was unintentional.

 Pizza bun

Serunding buns

Recipe (This recipe is perfect! but I reduced the sugar)

Ingredients
(Basic Sweet Buns Dough)
200g bread flour
100g plain flour
6g instant yeast
55g sugar (I only use 2 tbs)
140g milk
1 egg
1/2tsp salt
45g butter

100g raisins } soak for 5mins
1tsp water } then squeeze out liquid

Steps:
1. Combine all ingredients in a mixer, except butter and rasins.
2. Beat at medium speed until it form a dough and add in the butter.
3. Continue to beat until it form a smooth and elastic dough.
4. Cover the dough and let it prove for 45-60mins.
5. Flatten the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead in the raisins.
6. Divide dough into about 55g each portion and rest for another 10mins.
7. Shape into round ball and arrange it on a greased tray.
8. Cover and leave to prove for 45mins until it doubled in size.
9. Preheat oven to 190C.
10.Brush surface with milk and bake in a preheated oven for 10mins until buns is brown.
11.Remove buns from tin, brush surface with butter and cool on a wire rack.

Note: You can use this basic sweet buns dough to make any types of buns of your choice. If you prefer a softer buns, just add 1/2tsp of bread improver or softener.

Schooling week...

This week, Iman and Iffah are back in school. Their school holiday ended on 3rd January. Aku rasa aku la orang yang paling bercinta nak bangun masak breakfast untuk the girls. More than 2 months aku cuti buat breakfast. While kat Terengganu, everyday makan kat luar. Kat sana, banyak sangat variety, that, rasa rugi pulak kalau masak breakfast kat rumah sebab tak boleh rasa macam2 makanan.. hehehe.. terukkan?

First day of school, aku goreng mee for the girls. Today, aku tak masak apa2 sebab malas sangat. Lunch box dia orang aku letak nasi with curry ayam. Their breakfast, roti with curry ayam, leftover from last nite. Aku tak larat these past few days sebab kena migraine yang sangat teruk. Duduk kat Terengganu, it has always been mendung, berangin and sometimes hujan. Cuaca memang best. Balik je KL, panas yang amat. Subhanallah! memang perit rasa kalau kena ambik the girls time tengahari.

The problem with me is, my migraine will be worse bila cuaca panas macam sekarang. Kalau keluar time panas terik, balik je rumah, sure kena migraine yg teruk. Anyway, I wanna start my entry for this year with a recipe. Dah lama aku buat puding ni, during ramadhan last year. Tapi sebab towards the end of last year, aku dah jarang berblogging, maka, this puding telah diperam selama berbulan2 dalam folder. InsyaAllah, I'll start blogging actively. Aku harap Allah will give me strength.

Puding Buih

Bahan2
20gm agar2
1 litre water
1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 tin susu pekat (500g)
telur putih 8 biji
telur kuning 4 biji
rose essence

cara2
1. didihkan air + agar2 sampai hancur, masukkan gula, set aside.
2. pukul telur sampai stiff, masukkan susu, pukul lagi.
3. then masukkan agar dlm susu + telur, tambah rose essence, pukul for another 3-5 minutes. sejukkan

for the sauce
1/2 tin susu pekat (500gm)
telur kuning 4 biji
1 tbs tepung castard
air 250ml

cara2
1. masukkan semua bahan dlm periuk, kacau atas api yg slow sampai pekat. masukkan yellow colouring few drops, and rose essence.

 note : for the sauce, aku add heavy syrup from fruit cocktail, served chill with fruit cocktail.
