Stomach Flu and Eating Expedition..

On Friday, the whole day aku melepek kat atas katil. I was so sick that I could barely get out of bed. My fever was running as high as 39 degree C. Luckily Iman and Iffah tak pegi sekolah (Mama was too sick to get up and send them to school that morning). So I have two angels babysitting me at home. Alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah for the beautiful gift.

The saddest part about not having hubby around was that, there was no one around to bring me to the clinic. My sister, Mas, was at work. Nazri, my brother, was also at work. Aku terpaksa la merengkuk dalam selimut, sponged by my two girls, and wait til Mas came back home. By the time Mas balik, I was feeling better. Tak jadila aku pegi clinic. I think masa duduk hospital dengan Iffah, somehow, aku dapat the virus that causes the stomach flu. Fever is well gone, but the stomach cramp is still there.

Dah la 2 hari ni, asyik ikut orang makan je. Semalam aku keluar dengan my siblings, pegi Al-Rawshar kat bulatan Kg Pandan. The food sucks. Same goes with the service. Will blog about it tomorrow, once I get my hand on the photos that I took of that place. Today pulak, I went out with Azli and Sally to One Utama, pegi makan Chili's and ice cream. Iman and Iffah slept at their Aunt's place (hubby eldest sister) sebab nak celebrate Halloween kat sekolah Zuleika, their cousin. Can believe it, ada one of the parents kat kelas Zuleika sponsored FREE Starbuck Coffee for visitors yang membeli kat their booth? I was like... waaaaaaaaaa... kayanya!!

Penne with Spicy Tuna

This week memang takde mood langsung nak masak. Bila angin malas melanda, pasta will be in the menu sebab boleh makan from morning til mlm. Melampau kan? hahahhaha.. takpe.. the kids dah biasa.

Penne with Spicy Tuna

Gambar sangat buruk sebab I took using my hp. Hubby ambik my camera.. huhuhu.. In this particular dish, instead of using canned tuna in water, aku guna ikan kukus. Patutnya ikan kukus tu aku guna untuk buat sambal nasik lemak. But, I'm not in the mood to cook something heavy, maka aku guna untuk masak pasta. I used green olives instead of black coz nak menghabiskan olive yg Za bagi. It's very simple and tak rasa pedas pun. Cili kering tu saje je buat gempak.

Ingredients
500gm Penne - rebus til al-dante.
6-7 ulas bwg putih - crushed
1 canned of olive
8-10 tangkai cili kering - potong
olive oil
salt

cara2
1. tumis bwg putih dgn a good amount of olive oil sampai golden, then masukkan shredded tuna. 
2. goreng tuna sampai a bit garing, masukkan cili kering dan pasta.
3. add olive and salt.
4. voila! boleh dihidangkan :D

Iffah getting better a bit.

Alhamdulillah her vomitting dah stop. Hopefully her diarrhea too. Pagi tadi buat MRI because of the severe headache that she has been complaining for the past 1 week plus.

Mama dah tak tahan nak duduk hospital. Please get well soon sayang..

It's not fun when you have to drive all the way to Melawati to drop kakak at school and brave thru the heavy traffic on MRR2 to go back to the hospital again. Argh! I was stuck on the highway for more than 1/2 hour after sending Iman to school. Tension!!

Off to Norway..

Hubby will be gone for a week. I'm so sad.. huwaaa... Selalunya kalau dia outstation, cuma 3-4 days je. Actually aku bukan sedih sebab dia pegi lama, but aku sedih sebab kena tido rumah mok lagi. Argh! time macam ni la aku rindu giler kat Makcik Ton. Hubby tak bagi kita org tido just the 3 of us kat rumah. Since rumah mok ada adik2 aku yg lain, so at least ramai sikit. Takla dia risau sangat.

Tadi kita orang dinner kat TGIF, Wangsa Walk. Sebenarnya aku lagi prefer Chilis than TGIF. Pulak tu, aku tak suka the fact that TGIF ada few menus yg ada Jack Danial. But since Iffah tak sihat, with vomitting and diarrhea, maka terpaksa la kita org pegi somewhere closer to home. The food was ok, but aku still prefer Chili's. The ice lemon tea, rasa mcm minum air gula. It was too sweet! Nasib baik ler aku order for Iman and Iffah je. Kalau tak, sure balik dari TGIF, aku kena kencing manis. Aku rasa the best part of our meal was the dessert. The mocha parfait was parfait! ie. perfect! :D

Mee Goreng Sempoi..

I wanted to update on our trip back to Terengganu, but I'm so lazy (as usual) to take out the camera and upload photos. And seperti biasa, I'll just upload gambar mee goreng yg sangat2 la diminati oleh adik ipar aku, Suhaila. Few times she called asking for recipe. But Suhaila cakap, rasa mee dia masak tak sama dgn yang aku masak. Sian Suhaila.. Masa balik baru ni, dia cakap, kalau dia bukan on diet, she will definitely ask me to cook mee goreng at 1am.. hahaha.. kalau dia tak diet pun, aku taknak masak. Giler ke apa, pukul 1am nak masak mee goreng. Mau tambah 5kg the next morning.. hahahha..

Tadi aku pegi Pasar Payang for breakfast. I ended up with 10 ekor ikan tongkol/aya/tuna berat more than 20kg. I'm on body for life program (again.. *sigh*), so ikan will be our main protein source for the next month or so. Aku hope this time I'll be able to stick with the program. Last week aku dah start warm up, doing some weight lifting exercise and gosh it hurts! Especially my lower body, rasa mcm orang tua 80 tahun. Hope this week it wont be that painful, but I doubt that...

Terengganu & Singgang Daging

We're going back to Terengganu for the weekend. Actually malas sgt nak balik kampung. But hubby is going away next week for the whole week, maka terpaksa la jugak ikut dia balik. We can spend more time with him before he go off next week.

The day before, we went to rumah K.Mei (hubby's eldest sister). She just got back from US. She was there for 1 month, jet setting between London & Washington. Actually, dia raya kat sana with Abg Zainol  & Zuleikha. K.Mei bought shoes for the girls. They were very excited. Tapi kan, bila try it on, kasut tu muat2 je dengan Iffah. Punya la besar kaki budak2 ni. Hopefully they will be able to wear it for the next few months.

 Cantik kan kasut ni? I love the colour! :D

Petang semalam, Mas (adik aku) called, tanya what's for dinner. Adoi! malasnya nak masak. Pikir punya pikir, last2 teringat that aku dah lama tak buat singgang daging. Dulu masa buat body for life, manjang makan singgang daging. Iman loves it! Singgang daging simpoi je, main campak2. But the main ingredients yg kena ada, lengkuas and ketumbar biji.

Singgang Daging
Ingredients
1/2 kg daging - potong nipis
3 tbs biji ketumbar
3 asam keping
2 inci lengkuas, potong nipis
2 biji tomato - potong 4
bendi, cili padi - optional
garam, gula

cara2
1. rebus daging dengan air yang secukupnya sampai 3/4 empuk, masukkan lengkuas, asam keping dan ketumbar. Rebus lagi sampai daging empuk
2. Bila daging dah empuk, masukkan tomato, cili padi, bendi, garam dan gula.

Ni project aku last nite. I slept at 2am, sebab dok nak siapkan June's order. She wanted the tart utk charity sale kat Maybank esok. Since it's charity sale, aku suruh June bayar cost price je. Proceed from the sale will be channeled to rumah2 anak yatim.

Fresh Fruits Pizza

I wanted to sleep tapi Shariff is here. Today aku kena babysit dia. Actually dia duduk since semlm. So last nite, aku tido tak nyenyak. Macam mana nak nyenyak, keje dia nak berkepit je dgn aku. Asal aku pusing facing hubby je, dia akan tarik tangan. Grrr...

The pizza, but tartlet version coz nak masukkan dalam lunch boxes the kids.

This recipe was given by Datin Kay, wife to the chairman of the company that hubby is working with now. We went to his house on the day that I made the Sicilian Orange Cake. We fell in love with the pizza the moment we took the 1st bite. So it's love at the first sight for us. Alhamdulillah, Datin Kay was kind enough to share the recipe. Datin Kay is the mother to Que Haidar's wife, Linda Jasmine.

If I'm not mistaken, the recipe was taken from Betty Crocker book, printed in 1957. The book was given to Datin as her wedding present. 

Fresh Fruits Pizza
Ingredients
A
1/2 cup icing sugar
3/4 cup butter
11/2 cups plain flour (initially I typed 1/2 cup of flour, but the correct measurement called for 1 1/2 cup of flour. I'm sorry for the error)

1. mix together with hand, make it flat on a pizza pan, bake at 200 degree until lightly brown

8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbs freshly squeezed lemon juice

1. mix together using a mixer, spread on baked crust. arrange fruits on top of the cream cheese spread. It can be any fruits such as canned peach, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes etc

C
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup sugar (you can reduce if u want to)
1 tbs corn starch (mix with a bit of water)

1. mix together and cook until thick. let it cool and drizzle over the fruit pizza. keep in refrigerator for at least 6 hours.

Chilling with the girls @ Chilli's OU

As usual, kalau nak lepak, kita orang mesti pegi Chili's. Mula2 nya, plan nak makan kat Jusco AU2 je. Pastu Nora suggested pegi Chili's. Dia pun dah nak berangkat ke Mekah soon. Jadi aku pun ajak the girls to makan kat Chili's KLCC. But Ina pulak memang ada date dengan her kids kat One Utama (Ina's 2nd home). Since from my place to One Utama tak jauh sangat, maka kita orang decided to meet kat Chili's OU.

Aku memang tobat dah takmau pegi OU during weekend. Susah giler nak cari parking. Nasib baik tak meroyan je aku drive more than 1/2 jam pusing kat basement parking new wing tu. Last-last aku cakap kat the girls to naik jumpa Ina kat Chili's dulu, then bila aku jumpa parking, aku akan join dia org. Even Midvalley pun tak susah mcm tu nak cari parking. Kat OU, you can see drivers tailing other shoppers. Aku ni jenis malas nak tail orang. I hate the guessing game. Satu hal pulak nak kena pikir kat mana orang tu park. Sebab tu la aku malas giler nak pegi berjalan2 to shopping malls during weekend.

Lepas dah makan kat Chili's, we went home. Aku sampai rumah dah almost 12.30mlm. Iman tak ikut aku to Chili's coz she was having a fever last nite. Hubby stayed home taking care of Iman. Actually he stayed home all day yesterday looking after Iman while wifey aka ME, pegi menjoyah.. hahahhaha... sorry ye hubby. I really miss my time out with the girls.

Meatball Again??

Pagi2 lagi aku dah bangun untuk kemas rumah. Aku janji dengan Nora and Ina nak pegi ziarah Fezzy. I was supposed to go to Nora's house, then we'll take Nora's car to go to Shah Alam. But pagi tadi aku memang betul2 tak sempat. Lepas dah basuh 3 loads of laundry, masak meehoon goreng, buat puding coffee, and siapkan breakfast untuk hubby, it was already 9.45am. So I had to asked Nora to pick me up kat rumah.

By the time we left to Shah Alam, dah almost 10.30am. Nasib baik ler Ina tak berasap tunggu kat exit Hicom/USJ tu. Bila sampai rumah Fezzy, Roger was already there. Anne patutnya ikut, but she left Kluang pukul 9am, and she had to attend Salleh's friend's wedding somewhere kat Klang. Memang tak sempat la nak jumpa we all kat Shah Alam. We decided to make it a potluck gathering kat rumah Fezzy sebab taknak susahkan dia. The reason kita org pegi rumah Fezzy was because her husband baru je recover from kena stroke. He had stroke on 27th Sept, and alhamdulillah, dia dah ok. Bila dengar cerita Fezzy, aku wonder, will I be able to be as strong as she was, if I were to be in the same situation as her?

Lepas balik from rumah Fezzy, we made a plan to have dinner kat Chilis One Utama.This time, Anne joined us. It was just aku, Nora, Ina and Anne along with my Iffah and Ina's children. Iman tak ikut coz she's not feeling very well. She has been having fever for the past few days, on and off. So dia kena duduk dengan Hubby kat rumah. Before pegi Chili's tadi, aku sempat buat meatball for Hubby's and Iman's dinner. Hubby dah kemaruk makan the Swedish meatballs. Nasib baik la ada lagi minced meat dalam peti. This time I added 1/4 cup of Ottogi breadcrumbs to the mince meat. Nora said the meatball tasted very good (betul kan Nora? Aku tak syok sendiri kan? hehehhe ).

ERm... Tajuk apa hari ni? Sicilian Orange Cake?

Aku tengah garu kepala pikir tajuk apa yang paling sesuai for today. Ishk! takde idea langsung. Tadi Makcik Ton officially menghilangkan diri for 1 month. Err.. No, she didnt run away. Instead, she's staying in Kuantan with adik aku, Izani sampai dia and his wife habis their final exam. Makcik Ton ditugaskan jaga Sofea, their 4 month old daughter while dia org pulun study. Ye la, dah nama pun student, kena la rajin belajar so that they can maintain their CGPA.

Sedih betul this time. Selama ni, Makcik Ton takde jugak, but at least kat rumah mak aku. So kalau penat, boleh suruh dia datang for 1-2 days. Now that she's in Kuantan, aku terpaksa la sabar for another month before Makcik Ton can assist me with housework.

Oleh kerana itu jugak, aku terpaksa memujuk diri aku dengan buat Sicilian Orange Cake. Tapikan, the bottom burnt a bit sebab aku was in a hurry. I saw this cake kat Rima's. Bila tengok cake tu, terus jatuh cinta. The truth is, aku takde la minat sangat membaking ni. Aku prefer masak lauk pauk sebab senang. But lately ni, sejak dua menjak relationship aku dengan oven aku yang buruk tu makin baik, jadi rajin pulak. Aku believe, in order to bake successfully, we need to have a good relationship with our oven. Dulu, oven aku tu a bit degil, hard to understand. But I guess, as it grew older, it became wiser and more tolerant... hahahha.. OK! back to the cake.

Sicilian Orange Cake Recipe
(Adapted from Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escape)
Makes 1 x 22-cm cake, to serve about 8

Ingredients
250 g lightly salted butter, at room temperature, plus extra for greasing
250 g caster sugar
4 medium eggs
1 1/2 tsp finely grated orange zest
250 g self raising flour
85 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
For the icing:
125 g icing sugar
5 tsp freshly squeezed orange juice

Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 170C. Grease and line a 22-cm clip-sided round cake with non-stick baking paper.
  2. Using an electric whisk, cream the butter and sugar together for 4-5 minutes until very pale. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating very well between each one, if necessary adding a spoonful of flour with the last egg to prevent the mixture from curdling. Beat in the orange zest. Add the flour all at once and mix in well, then slowly mix in the orange juice.
  3. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer, inserted into the centre of the cake, comes out clean. If it starts to brown too quickly, cover loosely with a sheet of lightly buttered foil.
  4. Leave the cake, in its tin, to cool on a wire rack, then carefully remove the sides and base of the tin and peel off the paper. Put it onto a serving plate.
  5. For the icing, sift the icing sugar into a bowl and stir in the orange juice until you have a spreadable consistency. Spread it over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides, and leave to set. Serve cut into slices, and store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Blackout & Swedish Meatball

Melawati blackout again! Grr.. geram betul! For the past few months, dah few times Melawati blackout. For an internet junky like me, it's so frustrating. Aku nak masak meatball pun terbantut. Yela, takleh nak mintak pertolongan En. Google mencari recipe meatball yang sedap!. Patutnya masak earlier but sebab letrik takde from 2.30pm til 5.30pm, maka aku terpaksa tunda hasrat nak buat meatball tu. Balik from picking up the kids from school, baru start masak. Masa tu dah 7.30pm! Dah la abah ajak keluar, dia nak withdraw duit. Adeh! kena pegi rumah abah pulak to picked him up. Luckily aku memang kena masukkan the meatballs in the fridge dulu before I can fry it.

Tengahari tadi, after sending Iffah to school, I went out with mok. We went to Jusco AU2. Kebetulan, masa tu, ada lean minced meat on 50% sale. I bought 2 packs, maybe about 600gm. Tiba2 teringat meatball K.Min. Aku pun terus beli the ingredients (aku main hentam je beli barang coz tak tengok recipe beforehand). Instead of beli cream, I bought sour cream! Nasib baik ler the recipe that I used, in the review, one of the reader guna sour cream which suprisingly, memang buatkan the sauce sebijik2 rasa mcm kat Ikea.


Swedish Meatballs with Strawberry jam.

Recipe from Food Network.
Ingredients
* 2 slices fresh white bread
* 1/4 cup milk
* 3 tablespoons clarified butter, divided
* 1/2 cup finely chopped onion (I added 3/4)
* A pinch plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt (guna garam biasa je)
* 3/4 pound ground chuck (600gm of lean minced meat which was on sale kat Jusco.. hahahha.. cheapskate me)
* 3/4 pound ground pork (a definite NO NO!)
* 2 large egg yolks ( I used 1 egg yolk)
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice ( cant find my allspice, I used mixed herb)
* 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg (didnt add this)
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (I ran out of all purpose, I used bread flour.. boleh?)
* 3 cups beef broth ( I used 500ml of water with 5 small cubes of knor beef stock)
* 1/4 cup heavy cream ( I used 1/2 cup of light sour cream)


Directions
Tear the bread into pieces and place in a small mixing bowl along with the milk. Set aside.

In a 12-inch straight sided saute pan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter. Add the onion and a pinch of salt and sweat until ...the onions are soft. Remove from the heat and set aside.

I only followed the 1st two steps, lepas tu, buat steps sendiri. I mixed minced meat with onion, bread, egg yolk, salt, spices, then bulat2 kan, leave it in the fridge for 1/2 hour.

lepas dah keluarkan from the fridge, deep fry it. leceh la nak masukkan dalam oven. so for this step, I followed Jamie's method.. hehe.. bila dah masak, set aside.

in a saucepan, melt few tbs of butter, then add flour, brown it, pastu add the broth. pastu masukkan the sour cream. taste 1st before adding salt coz the beef stock dah masin. if the sauce is lumpy, just masukkan dalam blender, and blend it to make it smooth.


The kids love this so much! Cumakan, a bit salty sebab aku ter add garam lebih. I was in a hurry, tak pikir. But alhamdulillah, still very delicious, according to Iman and Iffah.

RayBan at RM200

I'll just update the photo of Rayban which hubby bought at Isetan during their member's preview sale last Friday. Sila abaikan model yang memakai Rayban itu. Actually he's confused, not sure whether the Rayban is for male or female or unisex. I told him, it's a male sunny, but some of his friends said he looks like a chick wearing that sunglasses. Hahahaha.. lantak la.. asalkan the sunglasses tu comfortable :D


Worth kan beli for RM200? :D

Marble Cake

Hari ni aku sakit kepala teruk sangat. So mood untuk blogging hilang ditiup angin. I'll just update gambar marble cake yang aku buat over the weekend baru ni. Dah 2 hari aku tak masak sebab sakit kepala. Hopefully esok aku will not suffer from this weather induced migraine. Bila panas yang amat macam sekarang ni, my migraine attack is more frequent and it just refused to go away.. huwaaaaaa... Aku nak pindah tempat yang ada snow sepanjang masa. Maybe I'll apply for a citizenship kat North Pole. Ishk! rasa melampau la pulak.

Marble Cake

Actually marble cake ni sama macam yang aku buat before this, cuma this time rajin pulak nak memarblekan dia dengan warna merah. Bila tengok, lawa jugak.. hehe..

Recipe Marble Cake

bahan2
250gm butter (golden churn/anchor or any pure butter)
300gm castor sugar (hari tu takde castor sugar, I used brown sugar, the cake turned out fantastic! )
350gm self raising flour
2 tbs vanilla essence
1 tbs condensed milk
4 eggs
1 cup of fresh milk

cara2
1. cream butter and sugar til light and fluffy
2. add condensed milk and vanilla.
3. add eggs, beat for 1-2 minutes
4. alternately, fold milk and flour into the batter.
5. beat for another 1 minute.
6. pastu tuang dalam baking dish/pan, alternate between the vanilla and the one yg dah dicampur cocoa powder & red colouring.
7. baked for about 30-45mins, 180 degree celcius.

Tugas seorang SupirWoman

Kadang2 rasa macam nak je mintak extra allowance bila kena buat kerja diluar scope kerja yang ditetapkan. Scope kerja aku, ambik dan hantar anak sekolah (shopping jugak termasuk dalam scope kerja tapi secara tidak rasmi.. hehehehe). Alih2, pagi tadi, sedang asyik aku berfacebook, sambil menunggu baju dalam washing machine siap dicuci dan dibilas, Hubby called. Dia cakap dia tertinggal his namecard/business card kat rumah. And he asked me to deliver it to Bangunan Getah Asli coz he was having an urgent meeting before another more urgent meeting at 11am.

Masa dia telepon tu, it was 9.40am. Me, as usual, still berbaju tido (I send the kids off in the morning, daily, berbaju tido yang dicover oleh sweater besar coz it's always a stop and drop affair), terkejut dan terkujat with the fact that I have to mandi dan siap and keluar rumah at 10am. Mula2 aku nak je refuse him outright! Tapi bila memikirkan his more urgent meeting at 11am yang sangat2 crucial  for his business dalam pembelian pots and pans dimasa akan datang, maka terpaksa la aku setuju je nak hantar his namecard.

Keluar dari Melawati, aku ambik AKLEH. Then masa bayar tol, aku called hubby cakap I'll be there dalam masa 5 minit. Then tiba2.............. aku tengok, aku tertinggal the namecards kat rumah!!!!! HUWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... rasa macam nak je berenti kat tepi and golek2 atas jalan. Tension giler!! Tak ke dah jadi 2 kali kerja? I had to go back home, ambik namecard and pegi to Hubby lagi! But this time pulak, by the time sampai sana, hubby cakap he cant wait for me, he had to go coz everyone was already there and waiting for him. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Kalau taknak cakap la awal2!! Takde la aku kena pegi balik sampai 2 kali.

Rasa nak nangis pun ada gak. I wasted my time atas jalan je pagi tadi. Then lepas the incident dengan namecard tu, aku tolong adik aku, Ayu, hantar her Kancil to workshop for servicing. Balik rumah, aku suruh Iffah siap2, then terus antar dia to school, ambik Iman from school and ambik Mok kat her house. We went to Sushi King for lunch. Sushi King is offering their RM2 Bonanza starting today. This time I was a bit disappointed dengan Sushi King nye offer. Masa sampai kat situ, we had to queue for more than 1/2 hour. Pastu sushi atas belt tu tinggal tomago, crabstick and tuna je. Hampeh betul!! Baik aku pegi masa takde sale. Lagi banyak selection walaupun aku kena bayar lagi mahal. The cashier cakap, if i wanna enjoy my meal during the bonanza period ni, aku kena pegi pukul 11.30am before lunch rush hour which will drag sampai dinner rush hour. OK! I will definitely pegi lagi esok. Pukul 11.30am aku akan terpacak kat depan Sushi King AU2!! heheheh.. melampau kan?

Since aku terlalu banyak agenda hari ni, aku tak sempat masak. So aku buat another round of Telur Bungkus guna the inti yang aku simpan dalam peti. Senangkan? Buat inti banyak2, then simpan dalam few bekas. Bila nak guna, just panaskan dalam microwave and siap untuk dibungkus dalam telur!

Inti Telur Bungkus

 Telur Bungkus yang sangat sedap!! (according to Iffah)

Recipe Inti Telur Bungkus
Ingredients
8-10 ulas bawang putih - crushed
2 ulas bawang besar - diced
1/2 kg of minced chicken
1 biji capsicum - diced (any colour or combination of all 3, green, yellow and red)
1 cup mixed veges
1 bunch of daun sup - minced
4 tbs tomato sauce
2 tbs cili sauce
3 tbs sos tiram
2 tbs cili boh (tambah or kurangkan ikut citarasa)
1/4 cup air
2 tbs cornflour - bancuh dengan sikit air
salt and sugar

cara2
1. panaskan minyak, tumis bawang putih until golden, add cili boh, tumis sampai garing. Bila dah garing, masukkan minced chicken.
2. Masak for few minutes, lepas tu, add tomato sauce, cili sauce dan sos tiram. Kacau rata, tambahkan air dan bancuhan cornflour.
3. masukkan mixed veges, capsicum, bawang besar dan daun sup. Masak dalam lebih kurang 5-8 minit, then tutup api.

Sleepover and cooking expedition

Iffah invited her friend to sleepover. Aku sangat la malasnya nak melayan. So I told her, if Nekton (Makcik Ton) agrees to balik rumah and take care of her and her friend, maka, sleepover dibenarkan. Sibuk la Iffah menelepon nenek & baba untuk mintak permission to pinjam Nekton for the weekend. Alisya came at about 2pm tadi. Aku dread to take a peek at kids' room. I can imagine how messy it is now!! GRrrrrr,.......!!!!!!

Petang tadi, luckily hubby decided to bawak the kids to take a dip kat KKlub. I really need that break. I've been cooking non stop since morning. Well, ada break in between untuk berfarmville dan ber cafeworld kat facebook.. hehehhe.. Pagi tadi, aku started the morning with sessi menggoreng mee. Pastu, aku masak lunch. Lunch was daging masak merah, telur bungkus and stirfry frenchbeans. Pastu for tea, aku baked marble cake, french bread rolls and buat biskut suji. Ishk! memang melampau betul aku hari ni. Macam kemaruk masak.

Eh! ada ke orang yang kemaruk masak? Aku rasa seronok pulak masak hari ni. Hubby is experiencing around the clock craving for food. Ye la, now that dia dah makin kurang merokok due to Champix, maka nafsu makan dia makin menjadi2. Ehem! nafsu makan saje ye.. hehehe..

Hubby has been requesting biskut suji for quite sometime, baru sekarang aku ada masa nak buat. Aku rasa the recipe that I use today sedap sangat. Maybe jugak sebab aku guna 100% pure minyak sapi. No, I didnt use QBB. QBB kan dah ditarik balik lesen from JAKIM sebab dia orang pindah kilang dari tempat asal without informing JAKIM, so ada sikit keraguan kat situ. Anyway, aku guna minyak sapi made in New Zealand with halal certification from Islamic Council sana. Sedap wa cakap lu! Aku yang tak la gemar mana makan biskut suji, pun boleh makan few pieces :)

French Bread Rolls yang gemuk seperti tuannya..

Recipe for Biskut Suji
200gm pure ghee (jangan guna QBB)
200gm icing sugar - sieve
350gm plain flour
50gm cornflour
1 tsp bicarb soda

cara2
1. cream ghee dengan sugar sampai gebu. Add flour, cornflour dan soda bicarb, uli. 

Note : adunan will be soft, dont worry. jangan tambah tepung. just bulat2kan and bakar for 15- 20 minutes (depending on biskut suji punya size)

For recipe French Bread Rolls tu, boleh tengok kat sini. Aku suka makan the rolls masa tengah panas. Just sapu butter and strawberry jam, pastu makan sambil minum kopi panas. peh! memang terangkat!

Isetan Preview Sale & Sotong Masak Lemak Cili Padi

The truth is, aku tersangatla malasnya nak masak. But I dont have any choice but to cook sebab Hubby still on MC, and now that he's on Champix, keje dia makan je. Makcik Ton pulak telah aku export ke rumah mok sebab rumah mok penuh dengan cucu2, kesian mok, tak terlarat nak melayan cucu yang ramai, boys pulak tu. Dalam keadaan selsema dan sore throat ni, aku gagahkan jugak ke dapur.

Tapikan, hari ni, aku pegi SALE!! hehehe.. sebut je pasal sale, terus bersemangat. Isetan ada preview sale today. Mula2 aku nak pegi beli tear drop bowl by Pyrex which was being sold from RM29-34 depending on sizes. Pastu rasa macam membazir pulak. Bowls Pyrex kat rumah dah banyak sangat, kat mana aku nak sumbat kalau aku beli lagi bowl tu. Terus tak jadi nak tambah collection bowl aku.

We (mok, aku and hubby) went there at 10am. Bersemangat betul aku nak bershopping. Our 1st stop was kat tempat luggage. A set of 2 luggage bags (20" and 24") was selling at RM200. We bought 1 set. Luggage bag aku yang aku beli more than 15 years ago, dah tercabut tayar. Seksa nak mengangkut barang with bag yang tak bertayar. So kiranya that purchase was a necessity.. hehehe.. acceptable ke?

Pastu our next stop was kat tempat handbags. Mok has been wanting to buy a leather handbag. So tadi we managed to buy a Guy Laroche handbag at RM350. It was on 60% sale. Then mok belikan adik aku, Ayu, a Guess handbag for RM360. Guess handbag tu was on 40% sale. Then we went to children's department. Hubby bought a Rayban sunglasses for RM200. Masa we all sampai tu, dah almost 11am. Tak banyak choice dah tinggal for the Rayban sunnies. According to the sales person kat situ, ada sorang ni, pukul 10am dah terpacak kat kaunter sunnies tu, borong 10 pieces of Rayban sunnies. Without sale, the price ranges between RM600-900. Aku rasa mcm melampau betul orang tu, borong sampai 10. Dah la sunnies to limited to 30 pieces je. Ishk! kalau aku ada kat situ, memang aku sound kaw kaw punya.

Lepas dah beli barang2 for the kids, kita orang pegi kat supermarket. Aku takde la borong banyak pun sebabnya aku dah borong few days ago kat Sogo masa ada sale. Mok bought some fruits, aku beli sushi je. Then kita orang queue kat Express counter. Punya la panjang queue, ada la dalam 30 orang. The express counter cuma untuk bayar 5 items and below je. Counter2 lain semua penuh sesak dgn orang yang nak membayar. Masa aku queue tu, tiba2 ada sorang pompuan ni, cakap kat aku, "This counter is for 5 items and below only.". Aku pandang minah tu, and cakap, "Yes I know. I only have four items, and the rest belong to my mom." (aku letak barang aku and barang mok together dalam trolley)... Then dia cakap, "Oh! sorry ye". I was like.. rasa mcm nak je cakap, "I can read you know, I'm not blind, nor am I ignorant like some people". Tapi aku malas nak panjang kan.. EEE.... geram betul!!

Esok aku akan post gambar Ray-Ban sunny yang hubby beli tu. Now, aku post gambar Sotong Masak Lemak Cili Padi yang aku masak semlm. Hubby loves it! Dia tambah 3 kali nasik... Nampaknya lepas ni, memang aku takleh masak sedap2 la.. bahaya ....


My version of sotong masak lemak ni, sangat2 simple.

Bahan2
1kg sotong XL - bersihkan, potong 3, toskan.
1/2kg santan
1 batang serai
1 helai daun kunyit - koyak2kan

bahan tumbuk/blend
6 ulas bwg merah
4 ulas bwg putih
3 inci lengkuas
15 biji cili padi
1 inci kunyit/1 tsp kunyit serbuk
garam, gula

cara2
1. didihkan santan bersama bahan tumbuk. kacau santan sentiasa, jangan bagi berketul.
2. bila santan dah mendidih, masukkan sotong, serai dan daun kunyit.
3. masak for about 8 minit, masukkan garam dan gula, boleh hidangkan.

Sotong kalau terlalu lama atas dapur, akan jadi kecut dan keras. So, kalau nak masak sotong, make sure cooking time to just right. Selamat mencuba! :D

Bargain hunting

I dunno why, but I cant resist good bargains. Kat Jusco, if you're lucky, you can buy meat at 50% off. Normally kena pegi awal pagi, masa opening coz kalau pegi lambat, the bargain meat dah habis dijual.


 Normally they will sell daging/ayam yang lagi satu hari nak expired from the packaging date. For example, macam this chilled brisket slice, packaging date was 29th sept, expiry date is 2nd Oct. So on 1st Oct tu dah dijual at 50% off. Kenapa aku sayang sangat my freezer besar tu, is because, aku boleh sumbat banyak2 daging, ayam, seafood yang aku beli at 1/2 price. There is no problem kalau nak simpan this daging past their expiry date as long as masuk freezer. The expiry date is applicable to the meat yang atas chiller shelves. 

 
 This type of daging, yang dah siap slice, normally aku guna untuk buat bulgogi or nasi goreng. Actually nak masak apa2 pun sedap, but jangan la buat rendang, nanti hancur rendang tu :)

 Ayam Goreng Kari. Since dah selalu sangat ambik gambar, this time aku ambik from kuali. :)

 Kobis Goreng Biji Sawi. Kalau pegi mana2 Indian restaurants, this is one of the sayur wajib yang dia org jual.

Back to Jusco bargain hunting. Kalau ada masa, pegi Jusco before closing. The seafood will be on 50% discount. Aku seldom beli seafood coz I get my stock from Terengganu. Aku tak lalu nak makan seafood yang jual kat sini, rasa sangat2 lain. But kadang2, kalau dah terpaksa, aku beli la jugak. Macam baru ni, I bought squids and ikan selar. Ye la, lepas raya baru ni, my stock barang mentah went from stock for few months, to stock for 0 hari. So boleh imagine tak betapa banyaknya stock dalam freezer tu?

Lagi satu, cooked food yang dijual kat section makanan panas pun ada discount jugak lepas 8.30pm. But cuma on 30% discount je. Kalau nak discount byk sikit, kena pegi kat MaxValue tepi Ampang Point. Dia org offer 50% discount. Sometimes, on days yg aku malas nak masak breakfast, aku akan beli kat situ, then masuk dalam freezer, the next morning tinggal reheat je dalam microwave.

Suddenly I feel like crying....

Aku take it for granted that Allah akan sentiasa bagi aku rezeki yang melimpah ruah dari segala segi, harta, kesihatan, anak2 dan macam2 lagi. Tapi tiba2 hari ni, aku dapat email from a friend, cakap that husband dia baru je kena stroke. Alhamdulillah it was just a minor one, and husband dia dah recover, but not 100%. Tak terpikir pun yang Allah mungkin akan uji aku macam tu jugak. Masa hubby was hospitalised, aku terpikir jugak, what if umur dia tak panjang, am I prepared? Will I ever be prepared? What if masa aku drive, dalam keadaan mengantuk tu, aku accident and mati? Apa harta yang boleh aku bawak bersama? Dah cukup ke simpanan akhirat aku?

Aku merapu.. sorry... suddenly hari ni tersgt2 sedih.

Letih Tahap Gaban...

Everyday, before pegi spital (hubby is still in the ward), aku kena masak lunch for the kids and my parents (tho my parents duduk rumah lain, I cook for them sebab kesian kat my mom). Yesterday was an exception. Mok wanted to go to Sogo, ada Warehouse Sale till this Sunday. So lepas hantar Iman semalam, aku bawak Shariff balik (aku still kena tido rumah mok while hubby is in the hospital) rumah. Shariff pulak, pantang tgk aku, asyik melekat je, macam gam. Even mak and ayah dia nak ambik pun taknak. Then at 9.30am, aku keluar ambik mok and pegi Sogo.

We stayed there quite a while. Alhamdulillah kita org pegi awal. Masa tu tak la ramai sgt orang lagi. About 3pm, baru aku balik. Letih giler shopping dengan mok. I didnt buy much, just beli groceries untuk rumah je. Mok beli macam2, termasuk la baju untuk cucu2 pompuan dia, then her SK11 facial wash. I dont understand, why the need to spend RM165 just for  a facial wash? Padahal boleh beli other brands termasuk la Himalaya's products for less than RM20. I would rather spend the money on good facial cream macam Primordiale range of creams.

Anyway, lepas balik rumah, aku ambik barang then terus gi hospital. The initial plan was, nak overnight kat spital. But it was freezing in the ward, maka terpaksa la aku balik rumah. Balik rumah at 11.30pm, lalu kat MRR2 tu, boleh jam!!! Sapa la yang bodoh buat construction malam2 buta tu??!! Menyusahkan orang betul! Since aku takde masa nak ambik gambar food, I'll upload gambar2 buah kat belakang rumah my parents during fruit season baru2 ni.

Buah Zuriat & Air Zamzam

Alamak! punya la lama aku biarkan this post tersadai dalam draft.

Fina & Andy came over on Tuesday untuk bagi buah zuriat. Masa dia org datang tu, nasib baik la bau busuk rumah aku dah beransur hilang. Dia org cuti for 1 month, back from Saudi to beraya kat Msia. Before balik Msia, Fina asked ada apa2 ke yg aku nak pesan from there. Teringat Jeni ada mentioned about buah zuriat, aku pun tanya la if there's a possibility untuk dia dapatkan buah zuriat for me. Aku nak distribute to few people. Alhamdulillah, memang rezeki aku. Memang dia ada buah zuriat available kat rumah dia. Someone gave it to her. People said that buah zuriat ni cuma available kat Mekah je.

 Aku tak sure pasal asal usul buah zuriat ni. But some said that buah ni asal from pokok koka yang dijadikan bahtera nabi noh. If it's true, patutla buah zuriat ni keras sangat2. Fina cakap kena gergaji the buah, belah 2, then rendam the buah for 1 nite. Pastu the next day, rebus buah bersama dengan air yang digunakan untuk rendam tu. Minum everyday sampai the taste jadi tawar. I've yet to try it. Nak belah buah tu, tapi asyik terlupa je nak beli gergaji kecik.

Buah Zuriat and Air Zam-Zam

Pelikkan rupa buah zuriat ni? Botol kecik kat belakang tu is botol air zam2. Comel sgt! Tak sangka now air zam2 comes in packaging kecik2 macam tu. Senang sikit nak bagi kat orang. Kalau tak, selalunya orang balik from Mekah, akan bawak balik air zam-zam dalam botol 5 litre or 10 litre. Then kena cari botol kecik pulak nak distribute. Memang leceh.

Aku hope with buah zuriat, I'll be able to conceive. Bila tengok Shariff makin besar, rasa rindu sangat2 nak baby. Another one, InsyaAllah. :D
