Breakfast in KT & Sambal Tumis Sotong

This morning, I went out for breakfast again with hubby, MIL and Shariff. Iman and Iffah ikut their Ami (hubby's sister) pegi pantai kutip shells. Letih melayan Shariff makan. Pagi tadi dia makan sebungkus nasi lemak and sebungkus meehoon goreng. Pagi2 lagi, bukak je mata, terus cakap "nak akan acik emak". He loves nasi lemak ikan aye. Tiap2 hari makan nasi lemak ikan aye pun takpe. Lepas breakfast, pegi Pasar Kedai Payang, beli kuih. And Shariff asked for nasik lemak lagi. Of course this time, aku takleh layan kehendak dia. Kang montel sangat, aku jugak yg susah nak dukung.

I'm supposed to have lunch dengan Rina kat McD tepi stesen bas kat bandar. But my mom nak datang ambik Shariff untuk bawak balik to KL in a short while. So tak boleh la keluar lagi. Our lunch date di postponed menjadi tea date. In a way ok jugak coz kalau keluar lunch, aku kena heret Shariff sama. Takleh la nak bergossip sakan.. hehe

Sambal Tumis Sotong

I cooked the sambal tumis ages ago, cuma tak sempat nak upload gambar. Today kat rumah MIL, menu lunch will be Masak Lemak Labu with Udang, Sambal Buih Kuini & Sambal Tumis Ayam.

  3. Hi Zisuka, ini la sedap best! I love this, da lama ta'makan. And your presentation is really beautiful.
You mind I copy the picture....saya simpan, bila saya naik angin post about women ada Black Belt in cooking, I will display this dish with credit to you of course.

I too love nasi lemak, and from old days experiences, the best nasi lemak I ever had was at Alor Star, depan tu Hotel Merlin. 1980s.
A coffee shop where ada satu makcik jual the nasi lemak.
Ada ikan sambal bilis, ada ikan sambal.

And I will have my breakfast there, stay at the Merlin hotel, will say, "Makcik, bagi saya tiga bungkus", and she'll laugh as she recognizes me, and see me finish all three packets. 50 cents a packet.

I think I have eaten nai lemak all corners of Malaysia.....Gua Musang, Lenggong, Betong, Pasir Mas, big towns to villages.
Here we have my wife or friends make them, boleh tahan sedap, ha ha.
Have a nice day.....and you jangan try any exercises dalam kereta punya back seat, ha ha ha, police berenti, lecheh kan? Lee.

  4. Hi Uncle Lee,

U're most welcome to keep any picture that u like in this blog. I'll be more than happy to share it with ur readers :)

Back in early 1980's, I dont even know where Alor Setar is, coz I was still in my primary school pinafore. But I'd like to look for the nasik lemak stall there if the stall still exist. That must be a really awesome nasi lemak coz you said it's the best.

To me, the best nasi lemak is the nasi lemak cooked and sold by my brother's MIL. She used to sell the nasik lemak under pokok ketapang in Gombak. But due to stroke, she no longer sell nasi lemak. I really miss her nasi lemak.

50 cent a packet of nasi lemak is no longer available in msia. With the rise of coconut milk price, I doubt there will be ever. Sedih la.. I remembered the nasi lemak ikan aye that I bought at school when I was in secondary selling for 30 cent each. It was that cheap back then. Really miss those days.

I think if I were to exercise in the backseat of my car, my hubby will have backache for a month! hahahahhaha...

    Take care Uncle Lee. :D
