Pasta for Dinner

Adik aku, Ayu, wanted me to cook Lasagne for dinner. So petang semalam, we went to Jusco AU2 to buy the ingredients. Unfortunately, the pasta shelves takde lasagne sheets, dah sold out. Argh! Tension betul. Time orang nak ni la, dia out of stock. I had no choice but to buy macaroni. Guna macaroni to replace the lasagne sheets.

I cooked the bachemel sauce and meat sauce before going out with hubby and kids. We went to skate at a park at Wangsa Maju. Kaki belah kiri aku, is a bit painful, rasanya from our skating session last week kat Lake Garden. Sampai hari ni, still sakit. Semalam masa skate, the kids buat 2 laps, aku buat 1 lap je sebab sakit kaki. Actually, tu alasan je. The real reason was, I was too tired and malas. Macam mana la nak kurus macam ni, kalau malas.

Aku kena lebih bersemangat sikit lepas ni untuk kuruskan badan. Tengok Nisa dah shed more than 20kg, jelesnya!! Nisa, I dunno how you find the strength to go on carb-less diet. Kalau I, sure takleh tahan the temptation. Anyway, back to the pasta. Balik from skating, the pasta dah ready utk dimasukkan dalam oven. Ayu helped to lapiskan the pasta with bechamel sauce and meat sauce. So aku cuma perlu untuk masuk dalam oven je.

The result.............

Baked Macaroni ala Lasagne

Ingredients
500gm macaroni - boiled til al-dante, toskan, set aside (this will be the last step after the bechamel sauce and met sauce)

Bechamel Sauce
3 tbs butter
3 tbs flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup water
125gm grated cheddar cheese (I used sliced cheddar cheese)
salt, pepper

cara2
1. Melt the butter, add flour, goreng sampai kuning, tutup api, add milk and water, kacau sampai tak berketul. 
2. If the sauce berketul, just masuk dalam blender, blend kejap, then tuang balik ke dalam periuk.
3. Panaskan the sauce, sampai sauce pekat, add salt, black pepper and cheese.

Meat Sauce
1/2kg minced meat
1 tin tomato paste
1/2 tin air
2 biji tomato - diced
1 biji bawang besar - diced
5 garlic - minced
salt, sugar, black pepper
few tbs olive oil

cara2
1. Panaskan olive oil, masukkan garlic and bawang besar. Goreng sampai kuning.
2. Then masukkan minced meat. Cook the minced meat sampai garing ie air from the meat kering.
3. add diced tomato, goreng for few minutes then add  tomato paste and water. 
4. Let it simmer for a while, then add salt, sugar and pepper. Set aside.

Lepas dah rebus the macaroni, boleh start melapis. Lapisan bawah sekali, should be macaroni, then meat sauce, then macaroni again, bechamel sauce, selang seli sampai semua sauce habis. Lapisan atas should be meat sauce, topped with grated cheddar cheese or sliced cheddar cheese. Baked for 45 mins, 170 degree celcius.

    the kids love pasta, the mums also love pasta sebab it's easy to prepared and takes less time to cook. kan? hehe.. normally i'll cook pasta whenever i'm pressed for time, or kemalasan melanda :D
