Banana Cake

This is the best banana cake recipe, I think. Kalau cakap banana cake, selalunya, the cake will taste like banana essence. And cake selalunya akan jadi hitam and nampak urat. But this recipe is different. Cake texture nampak gebu, halus and langsung takde rupa kek pisang.

Rasa memang rasa kek pisang, tapi the soft and fluffy version. Even SIL aku yg tak suka makan cake pun, suka sangat2 kek pisang aku buat tu and hubby ate quite a lot of that kek pisang.

Tomorrow Iman ajak pegi tengok nasyid kat Kg.Sg Pusu. Iman wakil sekolah untuk kejohanan nasyid peringkat daerah Gombak. Alhamdulillah Kg. Sg. Pusu is just nearby. Kalau tak, memang bercinta la aku nak pegi sebab roadblocks everywhere. Abang Zainol dah pesan, stay home from today until Sunday. Tak payah nak pegi mana2 becoz of the roadblocks.

Sometimes aku rasa, pemimpin ni, memang letak otak kat lutut. Why cant we, a democratic country, be allowed to hold a peaceful rally? Kenapa sampai nak menyusahkan orang?

Banana Cake

Banana Cake
Adapted from Aunty Asiah Shamsuddin

Ingredients
250gm butter - softened at room temp
180gm caster sugar (the recipe call for 200gm of icing sugar)
180gm self raising flour
1 tbs vanilla
5 eggs - separated, whisk whites until soft peak formed
200gm banana - chopped (the recipe calls for 100gm of banana)

methods
1. cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. add vanilla and egg yolk one by one until combined.
3. add chopped bananas, fold.
4. fold egg whites and flour alternately.
5. baked at 180 degree celcius for 30-35 mins.

  2. wow... boleh juga coba resep ini ya... indeed looks fluffy and moist... summer disini make banana price lower than usual.. week end day adalah hari ke farmer market buat ku and hubby.. hope can find cheap and ripe banana for this wonderful cake! ^,^

    We're the opposite. dulu2 I tak suka sangat kek pisang, sebab rasa esen kuat sangat. Tapi now, rasa mcm sedap pulak makan kek pisang. err.. birthday girl nak kek pisang sebagai hadiah birthday ke? *wink*

    Dalam banyak recipe kek pisang, that's the only recipe yang I can bake over and over again. I love bananas. Sekarang even di Msia, pisang dah jadi mahal.

    Err.. I bought banana again today coz I wanted to bake another round of the banana cake. Hope u'll love the recipe as much as I do :)

    Kalau sekali tengok, the cake looks like butter cake until you take a bit. Then u'd be suprised with the banana taste. The cake is very moist and fluffy. Bila makan, tak sedar dah makan beberapa pieces yg besar.

    *sigh*.. talk about the roadblocks, my fb was flooded with traffic updates. jem merata2!

  9. Ira, 180gm must be just right for me but not for you. It depends on individual punya taste. I can't guarantee that it best suits ur tastebud. So far, those who have tried this recipe love it
