Tiring Journey Back To KL

A trip that normally takes about 6-7 hours, took us more than 10 hours. Rasa sebu bontot aku duduk dalam kereta & duduk kat kopitiam. We left Dalam Kota at 12 noon, the 1st stop was at BB Kopitiam. Hubby nak jumpa his friend, Zula (Rina's hubby). Pastu pegi rumah my SIL, K.Ta, untuk ambik ikan, udang and sotong yang my mom bagi on Friday that we went to my parents' house. Sekarang kan musim udang, maka, meriahla peti sejuk rumah mak aku tu dengan udang besar. The selling price now is RM35 perkg. The ones yang kat sini selling for more than RM50 perkg. The best part is that udang tu fresh, baru naik dari laut. Kalau beli yang the ones selling kat KL ni, dah beberapa hari duduk dalam air batu.

I asked mok to buy sotong sebab nak buat ketupat sotong. Rindunya nak makan ketupat sotong. Lama betul tak masak sebab malas nak beli sotong kat sini. I hate the smell. Kalau beli kat kampung, tunggu bot2 nelayan kecik balik from candat sotong, the sotong smells of laut, bukan hanyir mcm the ones selling kat pasar sini. I started to like eating sotong pun lepas makan sotong yang baru naik from laut. Kalau tak, dulu, memang langsung tak makan sotong.

After rumah K.Ta, we went to Pasar Payang, I bought 5 ekor kan tongkol hitam. Selalunya aku beli at least 15 ekor ikan tongkol but hubby cakap, next month, we'll be going back to KT again, so beli sikit je la. Lagipun, since we're now on low calorie diet, our main meal cuma 2 je, lunch and dinner, so we dont need that many ikan tongkol.

On the way to Kemaman, I slept the whole journey coz I was having a severe migraine. It was so hot yesterday, nak bukak mata pun silau. Sampai kemaman, hubby wanted to make a stop over kat his office in Kemaman. We had lunch kat Jack's Garden Cafe near his office. We had to wait for more than 1 hour. Pastu pegi pulak kat Kemaman Chendol Kopitiam, tunggu lagi another 1 hour for him to conclude his meeting. Lepas his meeting tu, we went to this one gerai yg jual sata, kat tepi Masjid Geliga in Kemaman. Hubby cakap sata kat situ sedap, but I prefer sata Kuala Besut lagi.

By the time we leave for KL, dah almost 6.30pm. Sampai KL, almost 10.30pm. Letihnya travel. Nasib baik ikan2 aku dalam tong polystyrene tu semua still fresh. Risau jugak kalau ikan jadi busuk sebab almost 12 hours kat dalam polystyrene boxes tu (ada 2 kotak ikan).

    tp taktau camner rasa sata yg sebenar...yg betul-betul sedap..kat gombak tepi jalan tu, satanya manis sgt, skali tanya yg buat tu org alifyanundalwaunun...ooh..dia main tiru2 jer kot...

    pastu ada satu majlis tu satanya mmg 'ada rasa', moist dan wow...tp kelapanya pulak dah tua...rasa kasar kat lidah dan selalu buat akak tersedak2lah pulak....

    apapun otak2 kat Mersing paling sedap! sorry lari dr topic...heh3..btw alhamdulillah Shidah n family dah selamat sampai rumah...

    er..heran eh, you watper ngan tongkol sampai 15 ekor? berapa bulan punya stock tu? sure peminat tongkol eh...tp tongkol pun my fav gak...

    Lg satu...betul ker kalau nak wat ketupat sotong takleh guna sotong yg besar? biasanya size camner..and nanti kalu you wat mende tuh, boleh tak tunjuk step by stepnya...pulut tu nak kena tanak dulu ker> sbb dulu pernah buat, rebus dalam kuah santan sampai naik kering dan sotong pun naik kecut wlp gemuk menggelembung..tp pulut kat dlm ada yg still jelantah? terus serik...

  2. i tk pernah mkn chendol kat kemaman kopitiam tu... org kata kemaman kopitiam tu suku sakat hai peng gak eh...
    i suka hai peng, itu pasal tk pernah sampai ke kamaman kopitiam

  4. laaa... awat tak story ada kat kemaman.. kita kat kerteh ni je.. patut buzz me kat mailbox.. next time tau..

    memang ikan, udang, sotong tengah fresh ni.. sebab orang dah start pi laut.. weather lately pon alhamdulillah cantik..

    sate generally moist, pedas sikit, manis sikit, dan rasa ikan. some places, sata sgt2 dry, bila makan, rasa mcm hampas. tu sata tak best.

    i've never tasted sata mersing lagi. eh! jangan kan sata mersing, mersing pun i tak penah sampai. kalau kat pantai timur, sata tak rasa kelapa walaupun ada kelapa parut.

    dulu, masa i mula2 kawin, kita org selalu beli sata kat kuala besut. masa tu, they were selling it RM1 for 8 pcs. sekarang ni, 3 pcs for RM1, mahal and tak sedap!

    the truth is, i dont like ikan tongkol, but hubby loves it and ikan tongkol source of protein yg paling senang nak dapat. he's trying to avoid eating chicken and beef, tu yg stock ikan sampai berbelas ekor. sekali beli, I'd spend more than RM100 for ikan tongkol saje.

    Jap lagi i'll update on how to make ketupat sotong. tapi, as i mentioned earlier, mine is version kelate. i tak suka ketupat sotong version trg yg letak halba and halia :D

    sunday tu, 1st time i makan kat kemaman chendol kopitiam. suku sakat haipeng ke? patut la roti dia org lebih kurang. but it's a bit expensive la compare dengan haipeng. kat haipeng tu, i suka sangat their roti bakar. sedap!

    u're based in kerteh? ler.. tak tau pun. kalau tau, sure I dah call. punya la lama I duduk kopitiam kat kemaman on sunday baru ni, sampai dah tak lalu rasa nak minum kopi :)


    selalunya bila balik trg, one of the thing yg I akan cari is ikan segar. i love fishes kat sana. i paling suka, tunggu bot nelayan kecik balik from memancing kat laut. kadang2 ikan yg naik tu, still hidup lagi :)
