Sotong Kicap

While in Terengganu, kat rumah mok, aku masak Sotong Kicap. Mok bought sotong yang baru naik dari laut kat Kg. Lampu. Sekarang, walaupun musim sotong, sotong is not cheap anymore. Kalau dulu, boleh dapat dalam RM8 perkg, sotong yang size XL. Now, dah naik to RM15 perkg. Walaupun mahal, beli la jugak sebab fresh sgt2.

Kebetulan masa aku kat kampung, mok wasnt feeling very well. Aku rasa she has low blood pressure. Seharian tak boleh bangun, pening or mcm orang Terengganu cakap, mussing rumoh. Aku terpaksa la jadi cook. Walaupun penat, terpaksa jugak masak.

 Sotong Kicap

Sotong ni fresh sangat, bau langsung takde.

Sotong Kicap
Ingredients
1kg sotong - bersihkan, tos
5 ulas bawang putih - crushed
2 biji bawang besar - hiris bulat
2 inci halia - julienne
1 tbs sos tiram
3 tbs kicap manis
1 tbs serbuk lada hitam
a pinch of salt, gula

cara2
1. panaskan minyak, tumis bawang putih. Bila bawang putih dah garing, masukkan sotong.
2. Biarkan selama beberapa minit sehingga sotong 3/4 masak, masukkan halia, sos tiram, kicap manis, lada hitam, garam dan gula.
3. Bila sotong dah masak, masukkan bawang besar dan cili merah yang telah dihiris. Biarkan for another 2-3 minutes before dihidangkan.

    me too! i suka masak kicap, especially ayam kicap or daging kicap. tapi, dah lama betul i tak masak ayam or daging kicap. sejak hubby decided not to eat daging/ayam. :(

    i think i know kenapa ur kids tak suka sotong. dulu, i pun tak suka sotong, until my mum started to buy sotong from orang yg baru naik from laut. sotong kat pasar, bau hamis yg amat, nak makan pun tak lalu. but sotong fresh yg baru naik, langsung takde bau.

    err.. sure jadi? i takleh bagi 100% guarantee that it will jadi, all i can say is, insyaAllah jadi. :)

    but make sure bila letak garam tu, letak sikit dulu. to me, masak kicap, takleh masin sangat, nanti it will kill the taste. lagipun sos tiram and kicap dah cukup masin :)

    wao bestnyaaaaa dapat sotong fresh!!..
    ini kalau my house 1kg tak cukup..kurang2 2kg kalau masak sotong yang fresh ..woooo..cannot tahan lah..kecur betul ni!!!seronoknya kalu dapat beli fresh dari laut!!!

  8. agree w kak ayu...bestnya dapat sotong fresh...lama dah tk dpt mkn sotong fresh.. i suka sotong kicap..alamak! tetiba terbayang sotong kicap my mother buat..sedapnyaaa...hihi buat sendiri tk sedap ;-))

    hehe.. sotong fresh memang best! especially kalau buat ketupat sotong aka sotong pulut. next time kalau you wanna taste sotong fresh, meh ikut i balik terengganu. :)

    you selalu pegi kemaman, singgah la kuala kemaman. kat sana ikan and seafood fresh. but tak sure samada yg baru naik from laut ke tak. i dah biasa makan ikan/seafood fresh, rasa tak lalu nak beli ikan/seafood kat pasar kat kl ni

    nothing beats mom's cooking kan :D

    sotong, minus the bau yg kuat, memang sedap especially kalau buat sotong sambal, makan with nasik lemak :)

  13. sotong masak kicap ni one of zula's fav...my kids pun sama jgk. But cara masak tu je slightly difnt. Kalau dia punya style - sotong tu i rebus dgn air + kicap. bila dah mendidih keluarkan & tumis bhn2 yg dah slice then masuk kan balik sotong tu. urs pun nmpk menggoda :)

  14. my mom kalau masak seafood, jarang tambah air sebab dia kata manis seafood tu kurang. most of the time i masak seafood, i campak je semua dalam periuk, and tutup kejap so that air dari seafood tu keluar and cooked the meat :)
