Selamat menyambut bulan Ramadhan kepada semua kaum muslimin dan muslimat sekalian. I hope with this Ramadhan, ibadat dan ketaatan kita kepada Allah akan berlipat kali ganda. I'm kindda excited nak pegi tarawih malam ni. Rindu sangat dengan Ramadhan. Tapikan, dalam kepala ni dah macam2 menu yg aku pikir untuk esok. It will be a simple one, as last year and InsyaAllah aku takan ke pasar ramadhan, seperti tahun2 yang lepas.
Di kala zaman Rasulullah seorang sahabat bertanya : "Apakah itu malam Qadar wahai Rasulullah?". Baginda menjawab: "Tidak, tidakkah kamu mengetahui bahawa para pekerja, apabila mereka selesai dari pekerjaannya, nescaya akan dibayar upahnya". (Hadis Hasan, Riwayat al-Baihaqi dalam kitab Syua'b al-Iman: 3450)
InsyaAllah, malam Lailatul Qadar bakal menjadi ganjaran kita beribadah pada tahun ini. Amin..

Brazilian Rolls
Ages ago.. I made these...
Dan seperti biasa, makcik ini lupa nak upload dalam blog sampai dah berkebuk dalam folder. This was introduced by Gart. Memang sedap! Cuma, sepatutnya, dia jadi bulat2, gelembung2. Aku punya gelembung dalam oven je, bila keluarkan, dah mendap balik. Apa2 pun, memang sedap! Piyee (my stepson) habiskan 2 tray! That's a lot ok! Ada la dalam 20 bijik. Hairan aku, mana dia park semua makanan tu.
Quick Brazilian Cheese Rolls {Pao de Queijo} – Gluten Free!
Recipe by Our Best Bites 1 large egg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup canola oil
1 cup tapioca flour (sometimes labeled tapioca starch) no substitutions
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 C grated cheddar cheese* (preferably medium or sharp)
1/4 C grated Parmesan cheese
*you can play around with the cheese. I’ve used Monterey Jack, low-moisture mozarella, swiss, and even gruyere in place of the cheddar. All great!
Optional: extra cheese to sprinkle on top and any herbs/flavorings you’d like to add. Try rosemary and or garlic powder, my favorites!
1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place egg, milk, oil, tapioca flour, and salt in blender and blend until smooth. Add cheeses and pulse 2 times.
2. Immediately pour batter into a mini muffin tin (if your muffin tin isn’t non-stick, spray lightly with non-stick spray first), filling each well about 3/4 full, or just slightly less. If desired (and I recommend), sprinkle a bit of parmesan cheese on top and/or a tiny sprinkle of kosher salt.
3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden. Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes before removing rolls from pan. Serve warm. {Que Gostoso!} These actually don’t re-heat well so I recommend making and eating fresh.
Yield: anywhere from 16-24 rolls, depending on how full you fill your muffin pan. I fill mine pretty full (a good 3/4 full) and I generally get about 16-18.

The Two Mangkuks
Sometimes, I'm speechless dengan kebodohan some manusia. Bukan nak mengutuk or mengeji, but setengah orang, memang otak letak kat lutut, tak boleh nak pikir. Dalam ramai2 manusia, aku paling menyampah orang yang ego tinggi, sombong, tak berhati perut, tamak haloba dan inconsiderate towards other people. Kalau yang menipu, menyamun, membunuh tu takyah cakap la. Memang dibenci orang sejak azali lagi.

Scene No. 1
Masuk parking lot kat KLCC on weekends, car park fulled, tiba2 nampak ada macam empty lot. Bila pegi dekat, tengok2 ada mangkuk yang parking sebijik kete tapi ambik 2 parking lot. Menyampah giler! Nasib baik aku bukan jenis menyumpah seranah orang, maka terpaksa la sabar.

Ni selalu jadi kat Melawati. Parents yang tak reti bahasa, yang sesuka hati park kereta depan sekolah, so that dia org tak payah berjalan jauh nak pick up anak dan anak2 dia orang pun tak payah susah payah nak jalan jauh untuk masuk ke kereta. Kereta2 lain terpaksa la queue panjang sementara menunggu kereta bodoh tu ambik anak dia. Bengang? Everyday macam tu.

Nampak tak? It's not even a parking spot.
Aku memang berapi giler malam tu. Dah ler nak cepat balik sebab nak kena pick up adik aku, Mas kat Shah Alam. Masa aku sampai kat kereta, ada another guy yang tengah menunggu untuk 2 orang mangkuk tu keluar so that he can keluarkan his car. But, setelah more than 1/2 jam kita orang tunggu, tak datang2 jugak walaupun dah buat announcement. Urgh!! Bengang giler. Daripada 2 orang je yang menunggu, dah jadi 6 orang menunggu.
Because of them, ada more than 12 cars stranded tak boleh keluar from the allotted parking spot. Aku tak tau la mana dia orang letak their brain. Agaknya, bila tengok the "empty" space tu, dengan excitednya, terus parking kereta. That "empty" parking space memang betul2 tepi escalator and elevator. Typical Malaysians! Langsung taknak jalan kaki jauh2. Kalau boleh parking kereta dalam kedai, mau dia orang bawak the car and parking kat dlm kedai. Aku benci giler kat inconsiderate people like that. Apa salahnya, take the time to actually pikir, whether dia akan menyusahkan orang tak kalau parking kat situ. Panas hati aku, sampai sekarang tak reda lagi. Nasib baik hubby takde, kalau dia ada, mau dia calar kereta2 tu..

A trip to Subang..
Semalam, for the first time in many many years, I decided to take public transport to Empire Subang. I parked my car kat LRT Wangsa Maju, then take the LRT to KL Sentral. Naik LRT tu dah biasa, sebab senang walaupun hubby prefers to drive. Cuma taking commuter to Subang Jaya adalah sesuatu yang tak penah aku buat. The girls were very excited. Mula2, Iman taknak ikut sebab dia takmau naik public transport. But aku paksa jugak.. hehe.. mak yang kejam.
Once dah sampai KL Sentral, both of them dah excited giler. Tak penah seumur hidup dia org naik commuter. Ni first time aku naik coach wanita. Rasa bangga pulak naik coach tu. And for the first time, aku salute the government and KTM for initiating the move. Tak payah la aku risau anak2 dara aku tu naik coach commuter bersesak2 dengan lelaki.
The best part is that, the police memang check every coach, to ensure takde lelaki yang terlepas masuk ke coach perempuan. Aku was quite impressed. Biar betul.. Msia ke ni? hehhe.. Selalunya ada je benda yang aku tak puas hati dengan the government.

Sampai kat Subang Jaya, kita orang menapak sampai ke Empire. I asked Iman to skip instead of walking. She didnt know how to skip!! I was like... what?? How did I miss that? I didnt know that she didnt know how to skip. Nasib baik la Iffah ada, dengan suka hatinya tunjuk kat kakak dia how to skip. I asked Iman why didnt she skip. Guess what she said? Dia kata, nampak gedik. DUH!
We celebrated Sally's birthday kat Chili's. Thank you Warque for free meals. hahahha.. sian Warque, manjang kena belanja pompuan ini. Lepas makan kat Chili's, kita orang balik with my sister, Ayu. Dia drive and parked her car kat Empire. Kita orang kena fetched Mas, kat her office in Shah Alam. Pastu, terjadi la kejadian yang tidak diingini. Grrr.. I think I'll have to write about that tomorrow sebab nak tulis dengan panjang lebar. :P

Super Delicious Whole Wheat Carrot Cake
Bila baca nama the carrot cake rasa mcm melampau kan? Super delicious?? Biar betul. Tapikan, bila dah buat, and let it rest for at least a day, then you understand why it's called Super Delicious Whole Wheat Carrot Cake. Memang takleh lupa la carrot cake ni once dah makan. It taste a bit like fruit cake but, definitely better in texture and taste.
This was the 2nd time I baked this cake. The first was masa jumpa Rima and K.Yani last week. The cake that I gave to Rima and K.Yani was a bit dry sebab dia belum cukup istirehat selama sehari lagi. Keluar je oven, terus aku potong and masukkan dalam kotak. But this time around, memang sedap giler sebab kek dah cukup istirehat. I guess, kek pun mcm manusia jugak. Kalau cukup rest, happy thus the delicious taste. :)
Did I mention that I've been very busy for the past few days? Friday aku busy ke immigration, nak settlekan maid for my mom. The whole afternoon aku kena duduk kat sana. Urgh! punya la unfriendly immigration staffs kat Pusat Bandar Damansara. Luckily the lady yg attend to me was very professional. Kadang2 aku tak paham dgn gomen staff ni, pesal la susah sgt nak buat keje dengan senyum manis. Ni kan, all the time, macam ada PMS!
Saturday I was busy with SSP gathering, then Sunday pulak busy with baking and date with friends kat Chili's Empire. Monday was another busy day at Immigration. Finally, aku dapat submit all the documents without any hiccups. Yesterday I spent the whole afternoon kat rumah Lily, visiting her yang dalam confinement. I thought I could take a breather today, but nampaknya, tak tercapai hasrat hati aku :(
Super delicious carrot cake
Adapted from Cake Keeper Cakes
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar (less 1tbs)
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup dark rasins
1/4 cup cranberries (not in the recipe)
2 cup grated carrots (about 4 carrots)
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C, fan forced). Coat an 8 inch square baking pan with cooking spray and dust with flour, knocking out any extra. (I line my baking pan with baking paper only.)
2. Whisk together the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Whisk in the eggs and then the milk. Stir in both flours, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt until combined. Stir in the walnuts, raisins, cranberries and carrots.
3. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a rubber spatula. Bake the cake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 min. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 min, invert it onto a wire rack, and then turn it right side up on a rack to cool completely. Cut into 9 squares and serve.
4. Store uneaten squares in a cake keeper or wrap in plastic and store at room temperature for up to 3 days. Or keep it refrigerated for 1 week +.

Fat Free Pineapple Cake
I called this cake, bengkang nenas coz it taste like bengkang. I dont really like bengkang, rasa pelik. Thus, memang cake ni tak sedap untuk tekak aku. But for those yg on diet, this is great! no fat at all, low sugar content and most importantly, ada fruits inside. Hubby suka this cake.

Ingredients:
CAKE
- 4 egg whites or 1/2 cup egg substitute
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
FROSTING
- 1 (8 ounce) package fat free cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Prep Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Spray 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- CAKE: Beat egg whites and sugar until blended.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
- Beat into wet ingredients.
- Add pineapple and vanilla extract.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until it tests done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes.
- FROSTING: Gradually whisk in confectioners? sugar into cream cheese and vanilla.
- Frost cake with a knife, or by pouring it on if the frosting is thin.

Nite Out With K.Yani
When K.Yani mentioned that she will be going to see Rima last week, aku terus cakap kat K.Yani that I wanna join her. We went to see Rima on Thursday. After Isyak, aku pegi rumah K.Yani to pick her up, then terus gi Concorde. Err.. Oleh kerana aku malas nak parking maka, terpaksa la menggunakan valet service. Kiranya, kete aku la yang paling buruk among kete2 yg ada kat situ.. huhuhu..
Bila duduk bercakap dengan K.Yani and Rima, time stood still. Tak sedar yang we were already very late. Iman and Iffah dah tido atas couch while waiting for Mama and kawan2 to habis berborak. Bila Iffah started sobbing, terpaksa la mama dia balik. Thank you K.Yani and Rima for the great evening! And thx for the goodies! :D

Nasi Minyak Hujan Panas
Dah lama nak upload gambar ni, tapi tak berkesempatan. Dah lama masak nasik minyak ni. Rasanya masa Father's Day.
Nasi Minyak Hujan Panas
Recipe : Dairimama.blogspot.com
5 pot beras
5 1/2 pot air
2 tbs minyak sapi
3 tbs minyak
sedikit rempah kasar (bunga lawang, bunga cengkih, kayu manis dan buah pelaga)
5 ulas bwg merah - mayang
5 ulas bwg putih - mayang
2 inci halia - crushed
beberapa helai daun pandan
5 tbs susu pekat
1 cup of kuah daging yg masak tadi.
garam
pewarna (merah, hijau and kuning) - titik dalam nasik bila nasik dah masak, biarkan kering, then baru kacau
cara2
1. tumis bwg, rempah kasar and halia, bila dah garing masukkan air, dan semua bahan lain.
2. bila air dah menggelak, masukkan beras, and letak dalam rice cooker. once nasik dah masak, baru letak pewarna. bila dah letak pewarna, biarkan for 5-10mins, baru harung nasik.
Daging Gulai Hitam
1 kg daging - potong mcm masak rendang
1 kg tulang rusuk
- rebus sampai empuk
bahan blend
20-30 ulas bwg merah (i guna 5 biji bwg besar)
10 ulas bwg putih
3 inci halia
2 cups bwg goreng
4-5 tbs rempah gulai nasik minyak/rempah kurma
Untuk Tumis
rempah kasar (kayu manis, bunga lawang, bunga cengkih, cardamon)
3 tbs minyak - utk goreng rempah kasar
nisang/gula melaka
6 tbs tomato sos
garam/gula
1. bila daging dah empuk, masukkan bahan blend and rempah kasar yg dah digoreng, termasuk la minyak tumisan tu.
2. then masukkan rempah, tomato sos, manisan, garam and gula.
kuah nasik minyak ni kena manis a bit,and rasa mcm stew pun ada

Rainbow Cake - in Malay
Ok! Finally aku ada masa untuk translate the recipe in Malay. Patutnya nak ambik gambar step by step, but aku totally forgotten about it, sampai la kek dah siap. Last nite, I baked this cake at 8.30pm, siap dalam pukul 10pm, pastu tunggu cake tu sejuk dulu, baru assemble.
A friend, Maizan, came over nak tengok cara buat the rainbow cake. We had good time chitchatting sampai pukul 12 lebih. I was supposed to send some cake to Ju and K.Yani. Tapi takan la nak pegi rumah orang at 12midnite kot.
Actually, I wanted to update my blog earlier hari ni. Tapikan, aku tertido lepas hantar the girls to school. Masa chat with Nisa tadi, aku cakap nak exercise. Tapi tengok katil yang empuk, baring kejap, terus hanyut sampai pukul 10am. Aisey! Rugi pagi aku. Last nite I couldnt really sleep. I slept at 1.30am, then at 2am, hubby called cakap his mother has arrived. Then, aku kena ambik bantal, selimut, etc. Pukul 2.30am baru tido balik. Pastu at 5am, MIL kejut, cakap dia orang dah nak pegi airport. She came over with my SIL and her family. Their flight pukul 7.30am.

To make the frosting: Gunakan whisk, pukul butter dan cheese pada kelajuan yang tinggu selama 5 minit. Make sure, sekali sekali, scrape (bm?) bowl tu. Kurangkan kelajuan mixer, tambah gula icing dan vanilla esen. Pukul lagi pada medium speed selama beberapa minit sehingga frosting menjadi gebu.
A friend, Maizan, came over nak tengok cara buat the rainbow cake. We had good time chitchatting sampai pukul 12 lebih. I was supposed to send some cake to Ju and K.Yani. Tapi takan la nak pegi rumah orang at 12midnite kot.
Actually, I wanted to update my blog earlier hari ni. Tapikan, aku tertido lepas hantar the girls to school. Masa chat with Nisa tadi, aku cakap nak exercise. Tapi tengok katil yang empuk, baring kejap, terus hanyut sampai pukul 10am. Aisey! Rugi pagi aku. Last nite I couldnt really sleep. I slept at 1.30am, then at 2am, hubby called cakap his mother has arrived. Then, aku kena ambik bantal, selimut, etc. Pukul 2.30am baru tido balik. Pastu at 5am, MIL kejut, cakap dia orang dah nak pegi airport. She came over with my SIL and her family. Their flight pukul 7.30am.

Bahan2
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups tepung cake/superfine
1 tablespoon serbuk penaik
1/2 teaspoon garam (Jika anda menggunakan salted butter, tak perlu tambah garam)
1 1/4 cups susu segar atau buttermilk (I guna buttermilk)
4 putih telur (telur size A)
¾ cup gula (recipe asal menggunakan 1 1/2 cawan gula)
2 sudu teh parutan kulit limau- (I tak guna parutan limau)
125gm unsalted butter, keluarkan dari peti dan biarkan pada suhu bilik (sepatutnya menggunakan 113gm, tapi I malas nak timbang)
1/2 teaspoon pure lemon extract - (I tak tambah lemon juice)

2. Tapis tepung kek, serbuk penaik dan garam kedalam bekas. Didalam bekas yang lain, pukul putih telur dan buttermilk secara manual selama 1 minit.
3. Menggunakan stand mixer, pukul butter dan gula dengan kelajuan sederhana selama 3 minit sehingga kembang.

4. Masukkan 1/3 daripada adunan buttermilk telur tadi, dan selang seli dengan gandum sehingga habis. Pastikan mixer berada pada low speed semasa menambah gandum dan buttermilk. Setelah selesai, pukul adunan kek selama 2 minit sehingga sebati.
5. Bahagikan adunan kepada 6 bahgian, warnakan menggunakan food colouring. Bakar satu bahagian dahulu, selama 20 minit atau sehingga lidi tidak lekat pada kek. Keluarkan, dan biarkan selama 5 minit sebelum disejukkan diatas rak penyejuk. Bakar lagi adunan yang lain sehingga habis.
6. Untuk memastikan kek lembab, apabila sejuk, bungkus dengan cling wrap.

Thank you Ella
I know, I made a promise to few people that aku akan translate recipe Rainbow Cake tu to BM. I will do it later today, bila Shariff dah tido. As it is now, my hands are full. Nasib baik Raina dah tido, boleh la aku update blog. Today, Raina buat perangai sikit, takmau duduk main sorang2, nak orang peluk dia, riba dia. Makcik Ton was very tired. Rumah bersepah2. And I'm tired too.

Rainbow Cake by Dorie Greenspan
Bila tengok K.Yani buat this cake, I was very excited. My first attempt ended in a failure sebab I used 8 inch pan, which was too big for the amount of batter yg sikit tu. Then, Ju bagitau that her cousin used 6 inch pan. The result? Stunning looking cake!
Rainbow Cake
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
4 ounces butter, at room temperature
4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
4 ounces mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
To make the frosting: Using the whisk attachment, whip the butter and cheese on high speed for about 5 minutes, scraping the bowl down as necessary. Reduce the speed to low and slowly add the powdered sugar until all is incorporated. Add the vanilla and mix to combine. Increase the speed to medium high and whip for a few minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy, scraping the bowl as necessary.

1/2 teaspoon salt (omit if u’re using salted butter)
1 1/4 cups milk or buttermilk (I used buttercream)
4 large egg whites
¾ cup sugar (I cut the sugar. The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cup)
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest - (I didnt add any of this)
125gm unsalted butter, softened (It was supposed to be 120gm, but I was too lazy to weigh it correctly)
1/2 teaspoon pure lemon extract - (I didnt add this too)
Gel or powder food coloring
2 tsp vanilla essence (The is no vanilla essence in the recipe, but I added it and the cake taste fabulous)
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and put a rack in the middle or upper third of the oven. Butter two 5 inch pans and line with buttered parchment paper.
2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg whites and buttermilk. I whisked the mixture using hand for about 1 minute.
3. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixer on medium speed for a full 3 minutes until very light and fluffy.
Beat in half of the egg-buttermilk mixture, then flour mixture, then the last of the egg-buttermilk mixture, and finally the last of the flour, beating until the batter is smooth. Beat the entire batter on medium high for two minutes until completely smooth and mixed.
4. Divide the batter in 6, dye each batter with different colour. Bake 20 minutes, rotating halfway through, or until a thin knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in the pans five minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack. To ensure moistness, once the cakes are cooled, wrap immediately and chill.
For the cream cheese frosting, aku guna my red velvet cake frosting, which is cream cheese + mascarpone. Hubby loves it! for someone yg tak makan cake, i guess this cake works :)

Al-Fatihah buat Arwah YB Dr Lo'lo' Bt Mohd Ghazali
Terima kasih yang tak terhingga buat arwah Dr. Lo'Lo' sebab tolong sambut Iman masa Iman dilahirkan di Kohilal. Bliss Saturday
I woke up at 6.30am semalam to kejutkan Iman and Iffah. The girls went to Moshi Moshi Sakura event kat Karangkraf with their Ciksu and Piyee (their eldest brother). Makcik Ton still sleeping, maka, terpaksala mama bangun untuk buatkan breakfast and red velvet cake. Sally ordered sebijik cake for her friend's birthday. Patutnya aku buat the nite before, tapi balik from tengok cerita Harry Potter dah almost 1am. Tak larat nak bersengkang mata depan oven.
Bila the girls pegi, tinggal la mama dan abah terkebil2 kat rumah berdua. Aku tak tau pun that Piyee will be joining the girls ke Shah Alam. Aku pulak dah make plan dengan Nora, nak temankan dia tengok cerita Harry Potter. Tiket pun aku dah belikan, couple seat, which I paid RM20 je sebab kita orang tengok morning show, thus, dapat the early bird price.
Bila dapat tahu that Piyee ikut the girls, terpaksa la aku belikan another tiket of cerita Harry Potter tu. Another couple seat.. huhuhu.. rabak makcik ni. At 10am, we went to Wangsa Walk to watch Harry Potter again. Kira ok la, sebab hubby kan missed out 80% of the show the nite before. Tiba2 teringat masa kita orang tengok wayang bertiga, me, Nora and hubby. That was years ago. Masa tu aku belum kawin lagi dengan hubby. Maknanya, at least, 13 years ago. We went to watch cerita Braveheart. Rasa macam masa tengah bercinta la pulak semalam, deja vu ..
Kesian Nora, kena duduk kat couple seat sorang2. Tak sampai hati nak tinggalkan hubby duduk sorang2. Dah la he has been so busy lately ni. Takde masa nak spend time dengan kita orang. We left the cinema early, just few minutes before the show ended. Lepas tengok wayang, we went to Setapak then Jalan Ipoh. Hubby bought protein and supplements untuk his exercise regime. Balik from Jalan Ipoh, aku buat frosting for the red velvet cake.
Sally came at 4.30pm. By then, aku dah siap buat the frosting for the cake. Nasib baik sempat siap. Tapi, lupa la pulak nak ambik gambar cake. Ishk! Sally stayed sampai malam. We went out for early dinner kat Syed dengan hubby. Hubby spent the whole day lepaking with me. Woot! Memang best la... Lepas balik from dinner, I started my Rainbow Cake project. I used 5 inch pan yang aku beli kat Daiso. It was perfect! But ada wastage of 1 tbs of batter for each colour. Takpe la, sikit je. Aku rasa, next time, I will use all the batter. The cake will be slightly tinggi.

I went to watched HP last nite. I'm going again today. Last nite, I went with Iman and Iffah. Hubby joined us towards the end of the show coz he was caught in a very bad traffic jam at Setiawangsa.

Roti Jala & Kari Sardin
Err.. aku rasa aku dah jatuh cinta dengan roti jala. Semalam, aku buat roti jala dengan kari sardin pulak. Kan semalam hari malas, thus, the kari sardin. Kalau hari rajin, mau aku buat kari daging ke, kari udang ke. Dah lama sebenarnya aku tak masak kari sardin tu. Tak sangka, dah lama tak makan, rasa sedap pulak. Licin periuk. Roti jala aku buat 2 batches.
Iffah balik from school semalam, complain sakit kepala. So, dia skipped KAFA. Aku cuma hantar Iman sorang je. Balik from hantar Iman KAFA, badan iffah panas, demam pulak anak aku sorang tu. With Shariff and Raina around, memang aku tak boleh nak pay attention pada Iffah. Kesian Iffah. By malam, demam dia dah kebah sikit, but this morning, panas lagi.
Alhamdulillah hari ni hujan, at least jerebu tak teruk sangat. I hope iffah will be well enough untuk pegi tengok cerita Harry Potter tonite. Yes, we're going to watch Harry Potter mlm ni. Aku dah beli tiket since last week. Baru 2 days ago aku pegi ambik tiket kat TGV, booking dah seminggu lebih. Nowadays, it's easier to buy online then pegi collect tiket. Tak payah la aku susah2 nak beratur panjang.
Recipe utk kari sardine
bahan2
1 tin sardine
3 biji kentang - peeled, potong 6
1 biji bawang besar - hiris halus
4 ulas bwg putih - hiris halus
2cm halia - hiris halus
1/2 sudu teh halba
1 tbs cili boh
3 tbs rempah kari ikan
250ml santan
1 cup air (kalau taknak pekat sgt, tambah air lagi)

5. masukkan sardine in tomato sauce ke dalam kari. make sure masukkan sekali dengan tomato sauce dalam tin sardine tu.
6. boleh la add garam dan a bit of sugar.

Malas..
Hari ni rasa sungguh malas. I was supposed to pegi gym today, for my cardio. Tapi malas sangat2. Pagi2 lagi hubby dah called, tanya, "tak pegi gym ke?". He's in Malacca. Malas la, takde mood, nak tido, tu jawapan aku. Bila malas dah melanda, maka, masak pun jadi malas jugak.
Pepagi lagi Shariff dah mintak roti. Roti? Bagi roti gardenia, dia takmau. Rupanya, dia nak makan roti jala. Maka, terpaksa la aku rajinkan sikit diri untuk buat roti jala. So, lunch tadi was roti jala with kari sardine. Aku akan upload gambar esok.
Last nite I went to McD, to buy their Double Cheese burger. It was on sale. Buy one free one. Queue punya la panjang!! Dah la queue panjang, sorang beli sampai 10 bijik! Yang membuatkan aku bengkek adalah, dalam the coupon dah tulis, 1 coupon per customer, per transaction. Tu pun tak paham lagi?? And aku wonder, kenapa staff McD tu allow customers to guna more than 1 voucher. Ye la, dia buat separate bill for each voucher, tapi semua tu from 1 customer!! Errr.. geram!
Ok, enuff of McD! Actually aku nak upload gambar macs ni dah lama, tapi tak berkesempatan. Thank you K.Yani for the macaron shells. I went to K.Yani's and Ju's house to deliver banana cake, and Ju bagi cheesecake yg sedap while K.Yani bagi mac shells. Jazakallah.
Pepagi lagi Shariff dah mintak roti. Roti? Bagi roti gardenia, dia takmau. Rupanya, dia nak makan roti jala. Maka, terpaksa la aku rajinkan sikit diri untuk buat roti jala. So, lunch tadi was roti jala with kari sardine. Aku akan upload gambar esok.
Last nite I went to McD, to buy their Double Cheese burger. It was on sale. Buy one free one. Queue punya la panjang!! Dah la queue panjang, sorang beli sampai 10 bijik! Yang membuatkan aku bengkek adalah, dalam the coupon dah tulis, 1 coupon per customer, per transaction. Tu pun tak paham lagi?? And aku wonder, kenapa staff McD tu allow customers to guna more than 1 voucher. Ye la, dia buat separate bill for each voucher, tapi semua tu from 1 customer!! Errr.. geram!

I used chocolate ganache from DFCC yang aku buat for Dato'. Iffah said, those were the most delicious macs she ever tasted.

Roti Jala & Kari Ayam
Hasil tangkapan di Daiso on Monday, telah digunakan semalam.. hehe.. Takde plan pun mula2 tu nak buat roti jala. Pastu tengok Chikmi post gambar kat facebook KR, terus tergoda. Aku pun masuk dapur, keluarkan ayam, potong2, buat kari. Then aku duduk depan pc, google the best recipe yg aku boleh guna with my limited ingredients.
After blog hopping few times, I found a good recipe yang batter ala2 pancake, and telah aku tweak to suit me. Since aku pose semalam, aku takleh nak rasa kari ayam dan roti jala sampai la waktu berbuka. And memang sangat sedap. Patut la masa aku sibuk menjala, Shariff makan 6 biji roti jala! Aku makan roti jala, 3 bijik je, tu pun dah kenyang sangat. By the way, I went to Royale Chulan semalam (bukan Royale Bintang ye) and jumpa Alina. We had great time chitchatting. I baked chocolate bottom banana square. Iman and Iffah requested for that sebab dia orang nak bawak pegi sekolah hari ni, nak share dengan kawan2.
Roti Jala (recipe jap lagi ye, nak exercise)

Bahan2
2 1/4 cup flour
1 cup milk/santan
1 cup water
2 eggs - slightly beaten
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs cooking oil
1/4 tsp kunyit or few drops of yellow colouring.

1. Campurkan semua bahan kering seperti gandum, kunyit, garam, kacau rata. Buatkan lubang ditengah, masukkan wet ingredients seperti susu, air, telur dan minyak masak.
2. Gunakan whisk, kacau hingga rata.
3. Masukkan batter ke dalam botol yang muncung 3 (boleh beli dengan Chikmi).
4. Hidangkan bersama kari ayam/gulai ayam.

I need to talk about 7 things that people dont know about me. Aiyo! seksa ni nak pikir..
1) I met my dear hubby over the internet. Masa tu tahun 1994, he was in Michigan, I was in Hobart. Mula-mula takde cinta cintan sebab masa tu aku ada boyfriend (my x-bf now). But hubby aku tu sangatla pandai menanam tebu di bibir, sampai aku boleh jatuh cinta dengan dia. I ditched my boyfriend then, and married my hubby. Semalam, masa kat Ikea, Iman and Iffah baru tau that mama and abah dia orang bercinta dalam internet dulu. Jumpa a year after that! Iman siap tanya, mama dengan abah chat guna apa? YM? Facebook? MSN messenger? I told her, we chat on IRC. Dia terkebil2. Kelakar kan? :)
2. My BM is really bad. Why? sebab aku sungguh tak suka baca buku melayu, tengok cerita melayu dan yang sewaktu dengannya. Masa form 5, during SPM trial, I got P7 for my BM! huhuhuhu.. I was really sad sebab kalau tak dapat credit for BM kan kena sit for July paper. I was so depressed. Dah ler aku tak suka cikgu BM aku masa tu, Cikgu Tuan Jah or something. Dia siap cakap "Rashidah, awak takan pass BM awak!". Dunno why she was really pissed with me. Alhamdulillah bila dapat result, aku dalam A2 in BM. Weeee... jasa mu tidak dikenang cikgu Tuan Jah! Sorry!
3. Masa aku kecik2 dulu, I was so hitam, that, people always call me budak hitam. Ada one time masa sekolah rendah, mak aku curl my hair, ala2 afro gitu. Dah jadi budak negro pulak. Sedih? Memang la sangat sedih. Especially bila balik dari sekolah, kakak aku yg cantik jelita tu selalu bawak balik bunga from budak2 St John. She was in CBN, aku was in St Mary. Terasa diri ni seperti The Ugly Duckling. Kalau balik kampung, mak2 sedara selalu cakap, kenapa la Shidah ni hitam, tak putih macam Shima etc etc. Bleh!
4. When I was in Form 2, aku telah mendapat gelaran Tarzan. Gelaran itu diberi oleh classmate kakak aku, Rizalimi, or was it Koyeng? Cant really remember. Macam mana aku dapat gelaran Tarzan tu? Kebetulan masa time rehat, aku berdiri atas bench sambil pegang dahan pokok. Entah macam mana, dahan tu patah, aku tergolek jatuh dari bench. Kebetulan masa tu, classmates kakak aku lalu, nampak la aku tergolek atas tanah. Maka, nama aku dah bertukar menjadi Tarzan.
5. Masa sekolah rendah, aku sekolah kat St Mary Primary School. Sekolah menengah pulak, from form 1-3, aku pegi SMSS Kuala Terengganu (coed). Masuk form 4, I went to Sek Seri Puteri. Oleh kerana aku pegi 2 different school masa sekolah menengah, kawan2 pun memang sangat ramai. Sometimes, I'll get message in my facebook inbox, tanya mcm mana aku boleh kenal A, or B or C. Yang paling kelakar, Jeni cakap, husband dia kata aku ni macam Kevin Bacon, a person that connects people. Kembang kejap.. hehehe.
6. People always wonder, kenapa aku ada 2 orang anak, padahal mak aku ada 9 orang anak. The reason why I'm having difficulties in conceiving is because aku ada PCOS. Haaaa.. kalau tak tau apa PCOS tu, kena tanya cikgu Google. It's sad especially bila aku tengok Iman and Iffah suka sangat2 babies. For the time being, terpaksa la dia orang main dengan Shariff and Raina.
7. Some might wonder, kenapa aku ni suka sangat masak kan? Well, I started cooking from a very young age, 7 to be exact. Masa tu mok tengah pregnantkan adik aku Mas. Takde orang tolong dia masak, so aku pun start masuk dapur. For someone yang ada 9 adik beradik, of course kena ada sorang yg rajin ke dapur kan? Since aku tak suka melawa (opposite of kakak aku yg cantik tu), I helped mok in the kitchen. Masa sekolah menengah, aku dah boleh masak nasik dagang, gulai, and most dishes yang mok masak. Bila dah selalu jadi tukang masak rumah, automatically, aku jadi official tukang masak untuk family gathering. Balik rumah MIL pun jadi tukang masak jugak. Masa adik2 aku kawin, aku la yang tolong2 kat dapur. When I was heavily pregnant with Iffah, aku masak 40 ekor ayam masak merah untuk wedding adik aku Harun. Will I quit cooking? I think not. I love cooking.. It's the best way to show love.

Daiso & Royal Chulan
Ha! Ni la akibatnya bila tak baca details betul2. I was supposed to meet up with Alina (who's living in Paris and on holiday now in Msia) kat Royal Chulan. But I ended up at Royal Bintang, thus, missing my date with Alina. Huwaaaaaaaaaaaa... I am actually quite a detail person. Before going out, I'll make sure I know where I'm heading and rarely make this kind of blunder. But I guess, once in a blue moon, things like this happens.. huhuhuhu.. I'm sorry Alina.. Hopefully hari ni I dah tak sesat.
I dont know why I thought she's staying at Royal Bintang. Padahal, rasanya, dia dah banyak kali cakap yang dia duduk kat Royal Chulan. Royal Chulan and Royal Bintang is at the opposite side of town. Dah ler aku janji dengan dia at 6.30pm. Memang impossible la nak get to Royal Chulan once dah ada kat area The Curve tu. In the end, aku lepak kat cafe Ikea, makan karipap and minum kopi with Sally. Luckily Sally ada kat area tu.
Since dah sampai kat the Curve tu, aku terus melencong ke Daiso. I've never been to Daiso Msia before. Dulu masa pegi Tokyo, penah la few times aku pegi Daiso Japan. Oleh kerana aku rambang mata, I was RM80 poorer last nite. Tu pun aku dah jadi pembeli berhemah. Kalau ikutkan hati, nak je aku borong semua barang dalam Daiso tu. I managed to grab the mayo bottle yang ada 3 lubang, it was the last one on the shelf. Phew! Rezeki aku. Boleh la aku buat roti jala hari ni.

Devil Food Chocolate Cake
I'm not a chocolate person, so, chocolate cake tu memang aku tak suka. If I eat chocolate, it'll be expensive ones, imported ones. Kalau takat cadbury dan yg sewaktu dengannya yang made in Msia, memang kim salam, aku tak makan. Why so picky? I dunno.. hehe.. terukkan? Well, in a way, it's good sebab aku boleh maintain kurus masa before kawin. Sekarang? hmmph! tak makan chocolate pun still bulat.
Iman and Iffah pun very picky about their chocolates. Imported chocolate, dia orang makan. The ones yang made in Msia, takmau makan. I remembered Cadbury tasted different masa kat Tassie dulu. Kat sini rasa keras and too sweet. My favourite is Cadbury Flakes. Pesal kat sini takde jual? That used to be my lunch masa belajar with a bottle of orange juice.
Anyway, I found the almost perfect chocolate cake in DFCC recipe by Shelly Kaldunski. Tapikan, walaupun aku bake this DFCC many times dah, aku cuma makan 1 slice or 1/2 slice je everytime aku bake. Iman and Iffah pun macam tu jugak. The girls sangat la tak suka makan chocolate cake especially Iman. So, the chocolate cake yang aku baked on Saturday, langsung tak dimakan oleh Iman and Iffah. Nasib baik la adik aku Mas ada. Dia ambik satu bijik. I baked 3 chocolate cake, she took 1.
Petang semalam, we went to Subang Airport to send off MIL. On the way to the airport, hubby to a wrong turn. Instead of 20 minutes journey from Melawati to Subang, dah jadi 40 minutes journey sebab dia kena buat U-turn kat Sg. Buloh. Nasib baik la highway tak congested. Urgh! Bengkek betul. Bila aku tanya dia kenapa dia tak baca signboard (masa dia drive tu, aku busy ber FB with his ipad2, using 3G card), dia cakap selalunya aku yang akan bagitau kat mana nak turn, which junction to take etc etc. I told him, lepas ni aku taknak jadi co-pilot dah! Acah je.. hehe.. I know he'd be lost kalau aku tak bagi direction.

¾ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt (add only if you use unsalted butter)
½ cup coarse white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
4 tbs unsalted butter (I used salted butter), 4 tbs is approx 60gm
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup lukewarm water
¼ cup buttermilk (if you dont have butter milk, just add ½ tbs vinegar to ½ cup of milk, let it stand for 5-10 minutes)
Method
1. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
2. Cream butter, white sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add egg and vanilla, beat until combined.
4. Add flour mixture, alternate with water and buttermilk, beat on low speed.
5. Beat for another 30 sec until combined.

250gm dark chocolate
250ml whipping cream
A pinch of salt
1 tbs butter
Method
1. Heat whipping cream using double boiler until bubble. Add chopped dark chocolate, stir until melted, add butter and salt.
2. Let it cool, keep it refrigerated for at least 1 hour.

Nasyid di Sg Pusu
Iman ada Puteri Islam event kat SM Sg. Pusu yesterday. Ada pertandingan nasyid peringkat sekolah zon Gombak for Puteri Islam. The event started at 9am, but we were late. Well, aku dah kejut hubby suruh bangun, dia takmau bangun coz he came back late the nite before. I woke up early sebab nak kena hantar Iman to school at 7.30am. Tapi, balik rumah, aku tertido. Bila bangun dah pukul 9.30am.
Kelam kabut kita orang bangun and mandi. Memang tak sempat nak breakfast. By the time sampai Sg Pusu, dah almost 10.15am. Iman baru je lepas nyanyi. We missed listening to her singing by a fraction. Masa kita orang sampai tu, dia baru turun pentas. *sigh*... Iman was upset, and hubby made up to her by buying a trinket. double sigh..
If I can, today, I want to sleep coz I'm dead tired from yesterday's event. Lepas balik from Sg. Pusu, aku on my baking baking, gear 5. Mula2, aku baked devil food chocolate cake 3 bijik. Kebetulan, lepas je siap bakar kek, k.siti came to pay for the Harry Potter tickets next weekend. Aku belikan untuk k.siti online. Senang, takyah nak susah2 beratur. Lepas k.siti balik, aku baked pizza for hubby, then baked banana cake for MIL and SIL. Lepas habis baking banana cake, aku tengok movie dengan hubby (kat rumah je) while Iffah went out with her aunt and Iman watching One Piece.
Then aku start balik project baking. Adik aku, Ayu, wants me to bake Apple Dumplings. Aku sebagai kakak mithali (jangan muntah! :P ), buatkan la apple dumplings pulak. But aku buat dough je petang tu. Lepas maghrib, I went out with Nora coz it was her birthday. We went for dinner kat Jusco AU2. Balik rumah, dah almost 11pm. Aku continue buat the apple dumplings. Siap baking dah 1am! I was dead tired. I'll take a breather today.. maybe not. ..
