Grey Hair - A sign of Maturity?

Last nite, Iman wanted to comb my hair. So I let her be. Pastu tiba2 dia cakap "Mama! kakak jumpa uban!". I was like .... WHAT??? "Betul Mama, tunggu, kakak cabut". I patiently waited while she tugged and plucked the uban off my head. True enuff, it was grey in colour. I thought maybe it's just rambut ubat yang sesat. But NO! Iman managed to find 3 more strands of grey hair. huwaaa.... Am I that old? So depressing!!

Bila cakap rambut uban ni, teringat abah aku. Few years back, masa wedding adik aku no. 6, my cousin, Abang Din, dok sibuk nak pakai inai. Abang Din tak la tua sangat, so dia ada few strands of grey hair kat janggut and kepala dia. My dad pulak, tengok Abang Din nak letak inai kat his janggut and rambut, tiba2 nak jugak buat kat his own janggut and rambut. So terpaksa la aku menampal janggut and rambut my dad dengan inai.

Guess what? The next day, bila my dad bangun, dia terus mandi and tak tengok cermin pun apa dah jadi dengan rambut dia. Terus dia turun dapur, and his hair! OMG!!! It was orange in colour. Dah tu, rambut my dad semua uban, so bila inaikan, jadi bright orange. Err.. for orang tua umur 60 tahun (masa tu la) sangat tidak sesuai. Macam rock star tua yg tak sedar diri.. hehe.. And my dad refused to botakkan kepala dia. So hari kenduri kawin tu, my dad was the only orang tua kat Jabi, or maybe Besut or maybe even Terengganu dengan rambut colour orange. :)

  1. Hahahaha, I can just imagine your Dad kat kampung with orange hair. Sure glamour bapak pengantin :-). Btw, I pun ada grey hair, it saddens me to have to finally accept the fact that I am OLD :-)
